I wanna see the Jets' select Gholston #6 & Pat Sims DT...Auburn with pick # 36. In the 4th round I want Ahtyba Rubin DT {Rubin did the most 225lb reps at the combine} ...Iowa St & WR Marcus Monk {6'5" 220lb ...Arkansas. These are 4 very solid players & would really get that Jets' defense {stout} to where it should be & add needed youth to there D-line....Building blocks for the future. Thats 2/3's of the future front 3 d-line...Sims & Rubin.:jets:

why the hell would we select two DT's when we already have two fairly young ones in their prime (Pouha and Jenkins)?

Unless those DT's can play DE...they would be almost useless.

C'mon dude....All DT/NT players are interchangeable. If u looked up the players before u opened your yap....u would know that.:breakdance:

The front 3 in a {successful} 3-4 defense is comprised of all DT's by size & weight. ex: Ty Warren, Wilfork & seymour. Also look at the Chargers. Thanks for responding, but lets keep the chat intelligent.

  4. Why do you feel the need to start an entire thread about the 4 random players you personally wanna see the jets take?

I didn't notice that this site is now called...Post ....only after "KurttheJetsfan"
says its ok to post, add comment, or check with an azz-hole {wholeazz)...before starting a thread ...  Did you understand now?

  6. Ok...

I wanna see the jets take Darren Mcfadden at # 6, Kevin hardy in the 2nd round, and Frank Okam is round 3...

This belongs in the draft forum...

After Gholston at 6 we have bigger needs in the 2nd round... CB,ILB,WR, etc. Alot of guys are BPA over Sims.

BTW, history has shown your not known for starting great threads. Evidence proves it, i'm not attacking you personally.

My threads are usually very good, its' just that there aren't alot of good progressive football minds on this site. More mind-less chaps with free-time on there hands. What can I say. If u read my threads...there all progressive & on the point.

It's not crazy for Sims at 36...and the comment about those DT's being useless to us with Jenkins/Pouha is ridiculous. Having big guys who can two gap up is going to hurt a 3-4 team like us how?

I like your choices & I love Frank Okam....I'm just more interested in the Jets' building there defense very strong. Jets' have 2 young players on O-line & zero young players on there D-line. I recognize that for the Jets' not to be a 1-year wonder, they need a foundation & if the Jets' were to draft the players I mentioned, they would have put some building blocks on both sides of the ball...which is necessary for sustained brilliance & can finish building both O & D lines by next season.

    I would love:

    Gholston/Mendenhall/McFadden/McKlevin/Long at 6

I'll figure it out after that as we get closer...

Well...I was watching him in his bowl game & he has gotten some good revuiews. He also has great size. But getting Gholston, Sims, Rubin, & playing them with Jenkins, Pouha, Ellis, & Kenyon Coleman is a very nice mix of veterans & vets....And give the Jets' depth that can only improve & added on to each year. Thats where there O-line is now...Its' at a level where it can only be added to & improved each season.

  15. To me Mendenhall and Mcklevin are reaches at 6...I like them both as players..just not as top 10 players.

its not my senselessness. Its theirs.

I'll watch the games on sunday, and make my judgments accordingly. I make good ones too, because every now and then in a thread, someone quotes what i posted and goes "good post, mick". Its nice...

I agree...these players are playmakers, but don't need to be taken so high. I'm confident that the Jets' will make some good selections. This is just "fun time killing chat" until the draft. The waiting is very hard.

I would strongly dislike Sims in the 2nd. He's got a lot of question mark on and off the field. He came on strong as a senior but is more of a boom or bust prospect. I would much rather take a guy like Dre Moore. Sims is known as a punk with character issues, so I don't think it's likely this organization will select him.
I cant really dissagree with the other picks. I like Rubin as a future NT, and Monk is very intriguing. He put up crazy numbers at his pro day. Especially for his size.

Sims is rated as a high 2nd rnd pick. Moore can only play DE with his size/weight ratio. Sims or a player his size is needed. 6"4" 310-320 lbs.
