He does have a stronger arm, and a 4th quarter win ability. Chad never had either. I see him as Pennington 3.0- which is 3 times as better the Chad will ever be. If we draft him.... i won't be uspet. The mentality of this kid rivals the QBs that have rings on them, and he's not bullshitting anyone. He's not just saying all the right things, he believes in what he says. We are talking 17 pts down in the 4th and may be able to make the comeback- thats how this kid thinks. He believes that winning from 21 pts down is a challenge that is beyond attainable. Some see him as crazy and over-confident, pompous and dellusional. I see him as the standard for QBs who orchestrate series like "the drive"
first off, that video is dumb as hell but it has nothing to do with Matty Ryan, BC tends to dumb/corny things like that, we just get used to it here. Second, i'm glad to see people on here are warming to him. i first thought of taking him as just my pipe-dream that would piss off 95% of the fan base but it seems that people are starting to see past the INTs last year (and i've been saying since day 1, half those were the fault of the receivers and their Jmac-like ability to bobble balls and just suck ass in general) Matt Ryan will be at worst a very serviceable QB with GREAT leadership abilities. I've seen people on here say this and i agree 100%: the sign of a great QB is his ability to make everyone around him better, Matt Ryan has that. If you doubt me than watch a few BC games from this year, i saw first hand how he can take a second-rate team and elevate them to a very good team. Guys like Mike Vick have all the talent in the world but it doesn't translate to team success, in fact it almost brings the rest of the team down. Third, obviously i would be doing backflips if we got him, but i know it is not going to happen. I'm not buying into this win-now BS and i think that long-run i think he is the best possible pick we can make. With our revamped o-line that should give him time in the pocket(something he didn't have at BC) and actual skilled players at the skill positions (another thing he didn't have in school) the sky is the limit with this kid. He is the type of player that teammates buy into and rally around, because he does the same for his teammates and this is why it scares the hell out of me thinking he might go to the phins. But that is just one (biased, at that) opinion BTW, i know this term is tired and played out at this point, but I don't think i've ever seen a player fit the mold of "Mangini Guy more so than Matty Ryan
Easy Rocky, it's only a B.C. promotional ad. If you do beat him down, make sure it's after the draft. And if the Jets don't draft him, kick him a couple times for me.
I like Brohm better than Ryan, but I desperately think we need a change at QB. I think both guys would easily outperform the QBs on the roster now. Ryan and Brohm can actually see over the head of linemen
Agreed...he's not a bad QB....it's just way too high to take him Sam Keller, QB Nebraska/Arizona State: got jobbed by his coach at Arizona State. This is an aggressive passer who his former QB coach compared favorably to Tony Romo--and this coach actually worked with Romo in college. Keller isn't as mobile as the Dallas starter, but he is a leader who I believe will be a better pro than collegian.
