Why would he only throw 2 of his 4 pitches if he's a starter?

cappy- I read your explanation of the Hawkins thing-fair enough. I think though when you defended the move it was after I said he sucks and hes finished, thats why it comes off as you defending him.He is a pile of shit just like I said-regardless if its only April 5th.

And Pettitte looked like shit as I expected........long season Cappy-I know you love it when I say that.

So, Giambi pulled or at least tweaked a groin. Great. it's already starting. Now we have Beteshit and Duncan to rely on. Once Duncan serves his suspension anyway. Everybody here says the bats will come alive eventually. By the time they do we will be mired in last place. Oh wait, we are already in last place.

Oh, Spring Training results. Two pitches get hit hard a few times in the middle of March, and they should be relegated useless for the rest of that pitcher's career. Great philosophy.

I said I doubt he will be as good a starter as he is a setup man or as valuable to the team. I stand by that.

It's fine if you believe that. Your reasoning just didn't make much sense to me.

Hopefully, you are right (if you believe he will) and I am wrong. We should find out by the break or sooner if somebody goes down. To move him to the rotation though we probably need to replace him in his current role and I'm not sure who can do that. I can actually see him taking over for Rivera some day if he stays as good as he is now in his current role.

Of course he won't be as good of a starter as he is a setup man. No one is. That's why you want relievers with ERAs in the twos and starters in the threes or low-fours. It's not because those relievers are better pitchers. It's because they only have to throw one inning (or maybe two).

As valuable to the team, though? It's been shown time and again that a decent starter (not even a great starter, mind you) is more valuable to a team than even the best relievers.

Flaherty said Matsui should sit back and wait on a changeup. He does, and hits a 2 run HR.

Great analysis from a YES broadcaster... I'm not used to this.

Less than a minute after Kay says "no hitter" for the first time, Wang gives up a hit.

I hate him and his big stupid head.

Wang another good performance. 6 IP 0 ER.

The offense scores just 2 runs today, but they lead 2-0.

    Mariano on his way in.
