Back in Dec, was a possible late 1st Rd pick.....Bad 40 Time , Injury......Now this: ATHENS, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities said former Oklahoma State receiver and NFL hopeful Adarius Bowman has been charged with simple possession of marijuana near his hometown of Chattanooga. McMinn County Jail Officer Cody Price said Bowman was arrested Tuesday night and released after posting a $500 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. Officials could not immediately provide details of the arrest, which was first reported by The Daily Post-Athenian. Bowman declined comment when reached on the phone by The Associated Press. His agent, Brian Overstreet, did not immediately return a message left at his office. In two years at Oklahoma State, Bowman ranked fourth in school history in receptions with 127 and total yards with 2,187. Bowman transferred after being dismissed from North Carolina following a citation for possession of marijuana that was later dismissed. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved
Smoking pot doesn't make him a jerk. Usually it's pretty easy to hide, although he's apparently got caught more than once.
Yeah it's not the fact that he smokes that makes him a jerk. It's the fact that he would risk tons of money just to carry a damn bag of weed around with him. What a freaking idiot.
:rofl::rofl:   absolutely perfect Jabba! that song irritates the hell outta me, but honestly that was just plain perfect! post of the day!
HAHA, I love how the caption says "another jerk". That was pretty funny, but I mean really guys its pot. Not really surprising at all, but defiantly came at the wrong time for him. He was already seen as someone with character concerns and now this... damn. kids, don't smoke dope.
I know people like to downplay it since marijuana isn't that big of a deal, but what does it say about a guy who cannot even go a month until the biggest job audition of his life is over without weed. It's similar to the Brandon Marshall situation and although I'm not the biggest fan of players airing their frustrations to the media, Jay Cutler hit it right on the head when he said, "Wake up call? That's what I've heard him say after each of his little problems. So when will the "waking up" happen?" I work my ass off as a teacher for a fraction of what these guys make in one week and you'd think that they could be a little more discerning about their weed use, but I guess some are just foolish kids you know?
Post of the day. I love pot as much as the next man but I even had to give it up for two months for an internship piss test. And that was for free this asshole just cost himself a lot of money and possibly a shot to play a pro sport.
:rofl: ...and that makes him immature for sure, maybe even a dumbass, but definitely not a jerk...at least you can't infer that from something as innocuous as an early 20-something year old gettin busted with the ganj.
no he is a jerk. You are a jerk when you have a ton of money in your face and risk it for something like weed
The word "jerk" has a couple of connotations and that ultimately isn't the point. It is safe to say that we, as sports fans, get annoyed with some of these (we'll call them maturity challenged pre-adults) choosing to do things that they know are frowned upon by the NFL and ultimately risk their chance for success when we would all love the opportunity they have.
I smoked pot every day when I was this kid's age. Getting busted with drugs is something that I'd imagine a majority of Americans have experienced at some point in their lives (though I'd imagine only a minority would admit to it). The issue with professional athletes in this day in age is that we DO NOT tolerate child millionaires. If you are some dude filling out your local I-AA roster, hey smoke up man. Enjoy life, make some mistakes, soak it in. But if you're a star in a top football school, and you've got the chance to make millions and millions of dollars within two years, man, you better have reached adulthood on your fifteenth birthday. Is it a double standard that we ask or game-players not to play games in their personal lives? Possibly. Is it unfair to expect a twenty-year old kid to make no mistakes? Probably. But that's why they get the big bucks. Millions and millions of 'em. I get to make mistakes, smoke weed, enjoy my life and earn $30,000 a year. These guys get to make no mistakes and play football for $1,000,000 per year. It's fair.
street credit goes up in my mind... who doesn't smoke pot come on. The fact that it is still illegal is the most rediculous thing. the question is how do you get arrested for it. It is pretty difficult unless you're an idiot or have really bad luck (twice??) He will still be sick in the NFL
I dont get you guys what does the fact of him smoking pot before the draft have to do about anything. And its not going to knock him down to a 7th round pick. Half the players in the NFL smoke pot Ive seen one of our own Jets smoking pot its not a big deal.
