I've heard people mention the middle to late parts of that list. I'd like to add Derrick Harvey, Jeff Otah, Philip Merling, and maybe even Keith Rivers to it. Predicting past round 1 is pretty tough.
Kendall Langford, Earl Bennet, Tyrell Johnson, Terrence Wheatley, Jack Williams, Brad Cottam, and Jalen Parmele are all players that I'm interested in. You have a pretty good list though no doubt.
I would really like to take a chance on Josh Johnson from SDU. The guy threw just 1 Interception in his Senior year. He has adequate height with 6-3 and is also a explosive runner. He lead Qbs in the 40 , vertical and broad jump at the Combine. He has pretty good arm, strength, but a little trouble with his accuracy on short routes. I have to admit I only saw him playing at the Senior Bowl, but he's not the kind of QB that just starts runnung. He was constantly looking for his 2nd and 3rd read before he took off. He impressed all the coaches at the Senior Bowl practices. He would be a project, but he could be ready in 1 or 2 years if Clemens is not the answer http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/josh-johnson?id=264
Nice list there JLFDW, I really like a lot of those people on it. And frankly, I think that's really the best way to go about the draft. I've been looking at positions I feel we're lacking, so I looked for DEs, D(N)Ts, LBs, SSs, WRs. I like more people than I've listed, but I just wanted to give a sampling across different draft, like, strata, you know? (not all first day guys) So: Balmer, Red Bryant, Nick Hayden as ends, Ogemdi Nwagbuo, Okam, Ahtyba Rubin as NTs, jason jones, Quentin Groves, Marcus Howard at OLB, Curtis Lofton, Marc Magro, Jameel McClain at ILB, Josh Barrett, Tyrell Johnson, Craig Steltz at SS, Marcus monk, Jordy nelson, Jerome Simpson at WR. Also, I should note, I think a guy who could backup at RG, C, and LG would be very appealing despite our recent signings, so Zuttah and Mike McGlynn were two guys I liked for their interior versatility. Even with those signings, I still think a quality RT like Cherilus, if he fell to us in a second, would be great. A draft of Gholston, Curtis Lofton, and somehow Tyrell JOhnson would just about thrill me, but a draft of Marion Barber (see where I;m going with this?) Limas Sweed, Groves, Curtis Lofton and somehow Tyrell Johnson would fully split my skull. (Plus later picks, of course)
Curtis Lofton - ILB Best 3-4 ILB prospect in the class and likely to be there with our second. I'm not advocating taking him per say, but it certainly wouldn't make me angry to have Vilma replaced properly. I also think this is a direction I could very easily see our FO going in. Pace - Lofton - Harris - Thomas That just looks beast. If we can hold down the Dline and corner opposite Revis, our D is lookin stacked.
say we draft gholston at 6, then we replace thomas on blitzing plays and we got ourselves a scary LB corps. Lofton could be as good as harris, but it may take him slightly longer to develop than Harris. Like week 13.
I would love Thomas-Lofton-Harris-Gholston. THat would be frightening. And 3-4s are all about teh LBs
Lofton, Henderson, Goff, Butler Might have to reach for one at 36 or move down to the mid or late second. NE has late second and early third round picks and desperately needs LB's.
lofton is not a reach at 36... i wouldn't be upset with that pick. He would be an awesome compliment to harris at ILB. No one could run on us and blitzing up the middle would be a new trick for our front 7.
