It is the FUCKING Qb that is holding this offense back for the last five years! He could not win if they put him on the Chargers, Patriots or Colts!

I think I've seen the light. We don't need a good QB, hell we don't even need an average one, we just need players around him that are so good that they'll make up for his shortcomings.

well ESPN reported that Pennington is here to stay for 08/09, so it looks like your worst nightmare has come true.

And not crediting the Oline and injuries to our WR for why the offense waqs offensive last year is not being fair.

It will just put us one year further from a Sb. It will actually be fun to see what excuses people come up with for Noodle this year.

How does keeping Chad put us one year further from the SB? Who is ready to come in an play? Evidently the FO has reservations about Kellen. A rookie will not come in and be successful right away. I see the Jets drafting a QB, Chad playing this year and the new guy taking over next year. Cutting Chad does not speed this process up.

BTW, how bad is Kellen if he can't win the job from Chad, since you believe Chad could not play on a pop warner team?

    Really?

    How would you explain that?

    '07 - O-line = Swiss cheese. No running game.

'06 - O-line = Slightly harder swiss cheese. No running game.

    '05 - O-line = Swiss cheese. No running game.

'04 - O-line = good. Running game = Good. Healthy Chad = good. Even Quincy Carter looked good for a couple games.

'03 - Our QB play was solid that year, our running game was meh statistically. I don't remember '03 so well though...

If you want to focus all the blame for the under performance of our offense on the QB position, go right ahead. All you'll be trying to do is patch over a much bigger problem...praise Jah this regime seems to know that.

Personally, I think it shows a lack of critical thinking and understanding of the game of football if you choose to go the "ZOMG it's the QBs fault" route.

Kellen did win the job in Training camp but Mangini went back on his word and played the guy who played the worse! Chad was 1-8 and Kellen was 3-4 and should have been 4-3 with Wallace Wright and J-mac to throw to.

That underthrown deep ball that Kellen "At least I have a rocket arm" Clemens threw to Coles is the REASON he was throwing to Wallace Wright and JMac at the end of the season.

Bronco you and I see this pretty much the same. Chad coming back and getting the chance to start is really a vote of no confidence on Clemens.

So if Clemens isn't the guy and we pass on Ryan and he turns out to be great and Chad does hold this team back what does that say about the last 3drafts and Tannenbaum and Mangini?

I know I put a few ifs in there but lets face it we have a decent not great QB with 2 shoulder surgeries and a history of other injury problems and we passed on Cutler, Leinart, Quinn and maybe Ryan this year for Clemens what the heck is Mangini and Tannenbuam doing?

07 - Two of Kellen's "wins", since we all know Kellen is solely responsible for the Jets' wins and Chad is solely responsible for the losses, came against teams that were actually WORSE than us. A punt return won the game against Pittsburgh.

Are you serious or what? It was the fludder ball that coles tried to go up and get in Chads last game as a starter that gave him his first concussion. Get your facts straight! By the time coles came back Kellen was lobbing the ball after our receivers proved they could not catch passes thrown by a Nfl standard QB!

    Oh I get it.

So really the offense should come down to the RB and QB...and I'm guessing WR's then?

I'm guessing you like to collect shiny things?

There is not really a big difference between us the Five teams ahead of us in the draft. The only diff is we lost the second pick in the draft for a meaningless win against Kc.

I'm talking about the deep ball that was underthrown to Coles by Kellen where he injured his ankle, effectively ending his season because he was never the same again.

A game in which Kellen played like shit and was only helped by the fact that Croyle played worse for KC.

Guess we can have all pro's at every position on offense and it won't make a difference if the Qb can't complete a crisp ten yard out without having it jumped by journeymen cornerbacks each week! If you can't run 80% of your pass plays because your Qb can't throw then what do you want me to say? Your offense starts at the line of scrimmage. We could have the Afc pro bowl team blocking for chad and it would make no difference come playoff time!

This is a fact I will not dispute. Unlike Chad in his 16-9 loss to Philly, 17-14 and 13-3 losses to the Mighty Buffalo Bills and 10-6 loss to Tenn Kellen still won the GAME!!!! Operative word is WON the game!
