Couldn't agree more...brought a tear to my eye I'm not even a Flair fan, but damn do I respect what the guy has accomplished. I just hope that when his younger son gets called up to the WWE that he does his father proud
One of my friends asked me last night if I thought it was legitimate and if I thought he really would retire. I simply said that I felt it was because of two things: 1 - The Big Show was out there practically weeping and you could see he was very upset. He's not that good of an actor to try to fake that. 2 - Randy Orton, the "Legend Killer" was out there applauding and you could see him whiping away tears as well. I really doubt they'd have him out there if it was all just part of the storyline. I expect Flair to be gone a couple of months, but he would make a great GM-type character. He's still great on a mic and that's all you would need.
He's still under contract for another 2 1/2 years, so he'll be around. RAW GM would make some sense. He did well in the role as running RAW when he "owned" half of WWE.
Most of the crowd was behind TBS, especially when Mayweather ran from the ring. BTW, TBS even looked huge from my seats. I believe that this was the match that the monitors around the ring stopped working. I couldnt believe that they put this match on so late on the card. It was after the HBK/Flair match and the triple threat. Jericho wrestled on Raw last night so his injury wasnt a work and another reason why he is just awesome.
I'd love to see Flair still come around s GM, but I don't think it will happen. There's rumors he's mulling a run for office, plus, he's just honestly old. He's probably just tired of the constant travelling away from his family. This is definitely for real. I have no doubts about it. One of his closest friends knocked him out at Wrestlemania to end his career. Last night's tribute was a class act. I really wish Vince would have come out though. The only thing I'd have liked to see more than Vince out there would have been Sting coming out to say farewell.
You could hear the crowd behind TBS. Mayweather is a douche. Stick to boxing jackass. As for Jericho, he rules, but anyone who competes in a match involving any of the TLC is top-notch in my book. Wasn't Jeff Hardy supposed to be in MITB though?
He was supposed to win the MITB but got suspended 60 days for drugs. Then his house burned down and his dog died. Tough month for Jeff. I like the surprise of Punk winning but I really cant see him going after any title but the ECW one. No way he beats UT unless Edge helps him and they didnt even have him beat Jericho last night. I cant even see him beating Kane so dont expect him to cash in for quite a while.
If anyone knows if last nights Flair's retirement ceremony from RAW is anywhere on the net, please let me know. I have got to see it.
I was sitting there watching and just going "Wooooo" over and over again while the whole thing was going on.
Punk's going after the WWE title I read. Vince and Stephanie love him, want to give him a big push. It's funny, considering when he first joined, the word was HBK and HHH didn't like his style and didn't like the fact that his finisher was practically the pedigree.
The Undertaker and Vince weren't on Raw, but they did come to the ring after the show went off the air.
I've never heard Punk speak. Can he promo? Then again, who cares? Anyone but Orton. Oh come on. I would have liked to have actually seen that on camera. They push RAW to 11:20 to show Cena waste time, but they don't show Taker and Vince see Flair off?
I've heard he was pretty at good on the mic back in Ring of Honour. It was cool to see the horesman on Raw,I really wish that we could see stables back in wrestling.
