Well Baker...............I don't reach for needs, and never will, there just wasn't a OT rated high on my board at that point. Barron is the RT, there was no LT candidate available and maybe won't the rest of the draft. Godser was my target, but he went off early. Brohm is top 15 on my board. Bulger is 31 years old and IMO, is just an Average QB (sound familar like Chad). The Rest of the Rams QBs suck. I'll take a potential franchise QB in a heartbeat. Reaching for need is a mistake......BPA, Brohm by a wide margin is the way to go. I did settle the D-line with C Long in Rd 1.....remember this draft isn't over, critique my entire body of work later.
Nah its cool, just I dont think Linehan and Co. will go the QB way, or at least on day 1. Just too much money invested in Bulger and not enough talent in other areas, the Rams were very tough to watch at times.... Felt for S-Jax. Its a steal BPA wise though, Brohm I like more than Matt Ryan as a QB prospect. Someone would defintely trade up in round 1 to grab Brohm, like with Rodgers and Quinn. I guess I am in the minority, but in these mock drafts I try to shoot for what the team would really pick up over what I would do sometimes. That means guys in certain systems getting passed over for what could be less talent but fit the system. And I liked the Chris Long pick. Alot. Gets to move Adam Carricker to DT.
Hey BM, I'm not upset at all....I love to hear other opinions. The Rams have so many holes......O-Line, WR, Secondary, D-Line, another LB......they need alot of help.
I love the pick WW85, Brohm was clearly the BPA and should never have made it out of the first round. It is hard to pass on a potential franchise Qb when a team doesn't have one & the Rams don't have one. Bulger is just too injury prone and is starting to get up there in age. Good pick.
Yep, agreed there. Team has to go through a total rehaul, Chris Long is a solid guy to build around though on the D. Ill do the usual pick by pick analysis after day 1 is done. I cant really comment on day 2 picks because I dont have the proper knowledge to do that. Ill post winners and losers, like last year as well. Again hopefully no one gets mad though, I would even list my teams as losers if I felt I messed up with the picking.....
Time has expired on the Chiefs, can someone submit the pick I can't do it because my next pick is two away, and you must be at least five away
So far the Jets are looking exactly as I think they will in the draft: Vernon Gholston to solidify the pass rush and James Hardy to bolster the WR Corps for years to come. Unfortunately, those are the Jets only two first day picks and their only picks till the 4th Round. Thoughts? Side note: I know about all the 'Jets to take a QB' buzz around right now and I think it's just draft bait to get a team to want to trade up to the 6 spot or ahead of them so other players will fall further. I did take that into consideration and I also took the Jets need at corner/safety into consideration. There are DBs out there that I'm eying for the Jets though I can't discuss specific names.
I love the pick..............Hardy would be our ideal Rd 2 pick at that spot, he may go in late rd 1. Warhound7, I think you answered your own question. The Jet's have multiple needs and need to trade down to aquire more picks. Not having a thirid rd pick hurts, if we could trade down into mid rd 2 and pick up a 3rd would be ideal. Sorry to keep you waiting, I was held over in a meeting.
Flowers will work perfectly in the KC cover 2, Flowers will draw interest from only a few teams this draft but it will be high because of his playmaking ability. I like Tribble also for KC, but definately as a Jets fan I want us to stay far far away from them
Don't worry about the wait, it's all good. As for the Jets draft, having two 4th round picks helps but we really need to break into that third round. The DRob trade with Denver is heating back up according to hasmarks blog on espn.com and that could yield a third or most likely a 4th and a 6th.
I really wanted Curtis Lofton at 39, but Baltimore (JetFanInPA) took him right before with pick 38. ILB is a need for the Niners, but I didn't have anyone pegged higher than Dre Moore on my defensive board. He has that "boom" potential to be a dominant 3-4 end opposite SF's new free agent signee Justin Smith.
Not a bad pick with Flowers, they do need help in their secondary. Addressing their O-Line early was a good idea and going after Flowers was smart but they need more help along their entire offensive line. Their line averages around 31 years of age and while o-lineman can play till about 34-36 years old, they need an infusion of youth. Their backup o-lineman are even in their 30's. If I were you, and this is just a suggestion, I'd go after at least one more offensive lineman in this draft, maybe two.
Yea , I saw you posted that on the Jet board. I doubt we would get a third (Does Denver have a 3rd ? I recall they didn't), I wouldn't be greety at this point, I'd take one of the couple of 4th rounders Denver has and call it a day.
I doubt we'd get a third but if they could get a 4th and a conditional 2009 4th or 5th then thats a homerun. We already have two fourth rounders thanks to Jenkins. A third, fourth rounder would be fantastic and then we could clean up talent. However a third rounder instead would be kinda nice :shit:
