I have to disagree with all of you, forgetting about that Mendenhall was the BPA by a wide margin, he fills a big need too. I don't think DeAngelo Williams will ever be a full time Rb, plus they have alot of picks to fill other needs. I was hoping Harvey would make it to my pick but when he went 2 spots before, Mendenhall was a no brainer IMO. Who was the better player available?
With the Viking for GH, I took Phillip Merling. Udeze is out for the year with the illness and the Vikes didn't address D-line in FA. From what I've heard, Merling should be ready to go come training camp.
I like the pick, fills what is probably their biggest need and provides value. I don't see Merling being perennial pro bowler, but he should be a solid player for a long time.
Guys.............I have to go to my Nephew's B-Day party, should be back back in about 3 hours. IF Scikotics (Cowboys) doesn't make his pick within 3 hours( 1 3/4 hours are past) a GM that doesn't have a pick in the next 5 picks....please make the selection and PM the next GM. Thanks.
I went for Limas Sweed. I figured that Dallas needs a WR opposite of TO as Glenn is on the onset of retirement and the guy from the local U seemed to fit. In my opinion, Sweed's great value there and was the best WR on the board.
I'm surprised that he lasted that long. I think Dallas will definitely go offense in round 1. Great value pick.
I don't know where he is...maybe he forgot? I'm the Niners GM, so he better hurry up. I have a couple of picks ready.
I've decided to have Mobuis make the 2nd dallas pick now. We already have waited 3 hours for the first Dallas pick, I'm not waiting another 3 hours. The last time Scikotics was on the board was 6 A.M. this morning. EVERYONE....received a PM by Me, with the Rules and stating to forward your draftboard if your not going to be around. There are GMs waiting to make thier pick, it isn't fair to hold up the process.
Gotcha WW. I went with Felix Jones there. Good value and he'll be a great lightning to Marion Barber's thunder. Barber's way underappreciated in Dallas, but in a RB by committee league these 2 should wreak havoc. I personally don't like any of the other CB's on the board at #28, or else I likely would have gone that way. Talib went 1 pick before, I probably would have grabbed him instead if I could have.
Great Pick.............It was a no brainer, appreciate your help. I know you're busy, but anytime your on-line and someone goes over 3 hours......you can make the pick if you wish.
Thanks dude. I can't promise anything but I'll do what I can this week if you need any help. Engineering school's a bitch, I hate not having any free time. I'd have been all over this thing otherwise.
Not a flashy pick by taking Branden Albert, but the Niners have a serious hole at guard opposite David Baas. He should help Alex Smith stay on his feet. EDIT (thanks Mobius): I think Manny Lawson will bounce back after his injury, and we all know how Patrick Willis turned out so OLB slid down my draft board a little.
It was a very solid pick. Agreed with Lawson, although don't forget about not talking about undrafted players. Albert a great pro prospect and anything to help Smith keep developing is a good thing for the 9ers is a good thing.
I am not happy about Reggie Smith going one pick before mine, I don't even really like Cason, but he was probably the best DB available.
I was sincerely pissed with both Talib and Phillips getting taken just a few picks before the Pack too. Thankfully Smith can play both DB and CB; CB being a position the Pack really needs to upgrade because their CB unit is damned near geriatric. I'll settle for Smith with the Pack. Picking this late is really screwing up my strategy... As for my Jets pick, I think you can all sleep well at night if Gholston is wearing green by April 26th, right? I'll also be able to make my picks for the rest of the week. This weekend was screwy since a friend had heart surgery. My presence was thus, required elsewhere. Thanks to WW85 for helping me out with my picks. I really appreciate his help. We should all thank him for organizing this and putting up with the bullshit that comes along with running it.
