No I actually didnt have any opinion of Adrian Peterson as a prospect in general. Meaning I was on the fence with him. I really didnt move in either direction. With McFadden I'm feeling strong about this prediction.

i think he'll be great. long as he doesnt go to the raiders. i dont trust the organization to do anything but keep their fans false hopes up with a very legit defense and the rest in shambles.

Very true. I think if he ends up in the black hole he's not going to get the help he needs and will bust in a major way.

I think it is very telling that over 2/3 of those over 35, who have seen multiple early RB draft pick busts, think McFadden will not be a star.

I'm curious if you thought Blair Thomas was the shit on March 29, 1990 and what age you were.

(For the record, I was 12 at the time and did not care about the draft till two years later when I had started to follow college football.)

I believe the odds are AGAINST McFadden being a star. Will be 35 in a month .. have been watching football since I was 5 (course don't ask me to recall back that far).

But first round busts abound. Blair Thomas, Curtis Enis, Ki-Janna Carter (first overall '95), Ron Dayne & if we look back a scant 3 years ago .. Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson & Cadillac Williams were all drafted in the top 5 ... they have 2 1,000 yard seasons out of a combined 9 played, & in 2007 not a single one rushed for over 675 yards. In fact they didn't even combine for 1,500 in 2007.

Now that being said ... he could very well be the next Dickerson ... time will tell.

This has gots to be the most ridiculous way to evaluate a draft prospect. What does McFadden have to do with any of the RBs you mentioned. You could go through and find first round busts at every position and it means absolutely nothing to the present day.

McFadden has everything it takes to not only be a good RB but a superstar in this league. The Jets will be extremely lucky if he is available at the 6 spot.

Oh, I was thinking he kicked it with simease twins:rofl: Mcfadden is going to be a HOFer I remember after just about every ARK game Houston Nutt did his interview with McFadden by his side and made it a point that everyone knew how special this guy is. McFadden is better than Adrian Peterson all these people who say Peterson is quiker more powerful more explosive have no idea, because you don't have any real way to determine that I just cant imagine how good we could be with a player as dominant as Darren.

have any of you ever watched ARK games? seriously? or have you all seen mike mayock break down 4 plays where he goes down on contact?

everyone wants to sound smart by knocking one of the top 5 talents down into the top 15.

this guy imposed his will on the toughest conference in college football.

    heres his rushing stats.

Freshman year, played in 11 games, 176 attempts for 1113 yards with a 6.3 average and 11 tds. Longest run was 70 yards.

Sophmore year, played in 14 games, 284 attempts for 1647 yards with a 5.8 average and 14 tds. Longest run was 80 yards.

Junior year, played in 13 games, 325 attempts for 1829 yards with a 5.6 average and 16 tds. Longest run was 80 yards.

ive watched alot and i mean alot of razorback games just to see this kid the past few years. and this is a player in the SEC where every defense knows where the balls going. this guy still carries the team on his shoulders. and i dont need to hear any bs about how felix jones took carries. for a eam that rotated backs mcfadden still saw an absurd amount of carries.

he averaged 25 carries a game his senior year. and averaged 21 (20.66 but round it up) carries a game throughout his career.

as long as he doesnt go to the raiders, he will be well worth whatever pick hes selected with.

I also watch a lot of Hogs games. I think McFadden has a chance to be at least as good as Marcus Allen and if he's really great he could be similar to O.J. Simpson (on the field).
This time last year I was comparing Adrian Peterson to Simpson. So far, so good on that.

Felix Jones reminds me of Kenneth Davis. He is a similar type of runner. I'm also making the comparison because Jones backed up a better runner, just as Davis spelled Thurman Thomas.

haha cakes good to see you, good to know someone who knows the game like you agrees.

yeah i wasnt hating on felix jones but i was expecting someone who hasnt seen alot of mcfadden to make the RB by committee argument. so i just dispelled it before i would have to deal with it hehe.

and felix jones is exactly the reason jerry jones has no intention of trading up. although i expect them to go WR/CB with their two picks i wouldnt be surprised to see the cowboys jump on jones if he was available.

regardless thanks for the feedback cakes.

The Raiders had one of the better running games in the league last year. Their O-line's pretty good at run blocking.
