Another day another mock, i recently wrote about a scenario in which we drafted a CB with our first round pick. I just decided to make a mock if that happened.

I predict that STL chooses Vernon Gholston, Long is a great player but there are gonna be so many OT's available with their second round pick that Gholston would be too good to pass up.

Earlier this week i really thought that Matt Ryan was going to the Chiefs but reading a a mock on walterfootball.com.He made a good point if they were really that interested why would KC make it so public.Herm Edwards is not that dumb they want Jake Long , but they will settle for Clady or Otah..

    1.MIA-Chris Long OLB Virginia
2.STL- Vernon Gholston DE/OLB Ohio State
    3.ATL- Jake Long OT Michigan
    4.OAK-Darren McFadden RB Arkansas
    5.KC-Jeff Otah OT Pittsburgh

I also see New Orleans trading with us jumping ahead of New Englands pick, since they too are possible trade partners with Cincinnati to grab Dorsey or Ellis. With that trade we get their 3rd rounder.
With that we trade down to #10 and making a not so great situation better take Cromartie who should be available.Worst possible situation New England takes Cromartie and we get stuck with McKelvin.

    6.NO-Sedrick Ellis DT USC
    7.NE- Leodis McKelvin CB
    8.BAL-Matt Ryan QB Boston College
    9.CIN- Glenn Dorsey DT LSU
    10.NYJ- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB TSU

Atlanta has alot of 2nd round picks and depending on which qb they like whether it is Flacco or Brohm, determines on who we will pick at #36.They are ahead of us at pick #34 so they have the upper hand.We could trade up with a team but Atlanta has much more ammo.So they hold the cards , if they dont choose Brohm (hopefully they dont) we should have him at pick #36

I really think we are genuinely interested in Brohm i mean a 4 hour interview , i mean we spent the most time with him at his pro day.I mean all the bullshit of trying to not show who you will pick happens at the top of the draft not in round 2.

Clemens is not the future he is alright at best but Brohm could be great just look at the qb's coming up in the draft in '09 ,'10 none of them stand out to me as future superstars Brohm was that and yeah he has fell but he is still the same player.

In the 3rd I really depends on who is there of course at this point we still need a WR and OLB.If Manningham is still here this would be a no-brainer but i think he will be scooped up in the 2nd.Trading up is also a possibility if the right person slips.Players like James Hardy,Manningham, or Cliff Avril could all be traded up for as we did last year, Tangini wont settle they get the player they want.

But barring no trade i think we will target Dajuan Morgan S and Jonathan Goff ILB who both should be there.Morgan definitely has more upside, but Goff i guess i the safer pick. I think that the smarter pick if he is there would be Morgan but if he isnt there Goff should definitely be picked.Id much rather have Barton start then Elam.

With the 4ths i say i wideout and o-lineman Adarius Bowman could be that tall target that we need and an o-lineman like Kirk Barton should fit well as he can play alot of positions.

    1.Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB TSU
    2.Brian Brohm QB Louisville
    3.Dajuan Morgan S NC State
    4.Adarius Bowman WR Oklahoma State
    4.Kirk Barton OT Ohio State

I'd rather take Sweed or Harvey if we did that trade.

And I'd rather take a 3-4 DE like Dre Moore or somebody in the second instead of Pennington v2.0 (Brohm)

Yeah I really think we will try to trade with someone that is targeting Ellis or Dorsey. I wouldn't be very excited if we took Brohm, but if Clemens does not do well this year then it will defiantly pay off having a backup with a year under his belt. If we pick up a 3rd and land Morgan it would be great. He is somewhat raw, but has a ton of upside. I am a huge fan of Goff as well, but if Morgan is there I think you have to pull the trigger. Bowman has character issues so I'm not sure of that pick. Overall I think your assessment is accurate though, nice read.

I'd rather have Harvey or Groves if we traded down. Brohm? Use the same logic you applied on the Chiefs' "public" interest in Ryan and that's probably what that 4 hour interview was intended to do.

If we can get one of the OL's (Cherilius or Albert) in the 2nd round, it would probably be a more sound move.

If we do get a 3rd rounder for the trade-down, there should still be some decent CB or WR at that spot. A safety would be a luxury pick.

For our forth rounders....get some serious beef for depth. For our 6th and 7th rounders...get J. Leman with one of them.

I don't think the Ravens will take Matt Ryan

Rumor has it they are one of the few teams that rates Brian Brohm ahead of Matt Ryan, which is not to say they would deem BB worthy of the #8 Overall Pick either, but if this is true it would certainly seem to rule out the idea of the Ravens taking Matt Ryan in that spot, especially with Brohm still on the board

If the board fell this way and knowing Ozzie Newsome is a BIG BAP MAN, huge believer in the BAP philosophy, I can definitely see the Ravens snatching Glenn Dorsey

i enjoy the cromartie pick immensly after a trade down. But I just am not a fan of taking a QB in this draft not named Flacco. With that second rounder we could get some OL depth who would eventually replace woody or moore in Albert or Cherilus. Or get a playmaker in James Hardy.... really it is to useful a selection to throw away on a QB from a weak QB class, and on top of it, miss out on drafting quality guys who fill our needs...

I hate it why pay that much money to the guy we do not necessarily need, depth is the concern at this point

Lofton would be a sick pick at 36 and have the LB Corp set...

For those who don't know much about Curtis Lofton, read all of this, or skip to who he compares to:

    http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/curtis-lofton?id=774

His negatives purely suggest that he should play inside and wreak havoc from there.

^If you read any of Lofton's scouting reports, they're almost carbon copies of Harris' from a year ago. This guy would be a beast in the middle of the 3-4.

Agreed. If Gholston, Long, and Long are gone then I look to move. It's no big deal if we can't and we can grab McFadden but if that's not the case then we're forced to reach since at Ellis and/or Dorsey will be there and will be BPA but we can't take them.

Very Risky, but the guy with the highest potential ceiling IMO. But like I said I would prefer we didnt draft a QB this year not named Flacco. I think we can get great value in the second round without essentially wasting a pick on a QB who will not be seeing the field this season unless we went 0-13.... which I think is safe to say we will not be THAT bad this upcoming season...

That is the worst mock ever. If Tannebaum makes those choices he and Isiah Thomas will be riding to the airport together heck I'll drive them myself
