Just kidding...But they sure have responded to my view of there needs...though a little late.....I must say. I said these things before there disappointing "07" season. Now here we are in "08"...Go figure. Better late than never ???

"10- Commandments For Jets' Success" '07'

    1- Upgrade Run Defense...."Stop the RUN...." (DL & LB's) Faster & stronger

    2- Pass Rush

3- O-line....Upgrade....LG, RG, RT... More size & speed needed

    4- RB....More power & speed

    5- QB.....Strong arm & ability to scramble....Multi-Threat....to scare defenses

    6- WR.....With size, speed...stretches the field.....Deep Threat(2) needed

    7- CB...pass defense

    8- TE...Better run blocker

9- More speed on defense.....Get Vilma outta middle.....More speed at all LB's positions

    10- Punt Returner.....

SUMMATION : When these needs are met....Championship Looms...
    .................................................................

Jets' have filled most of these needs as of now & should have all of them filled by draftday & by pre-season.

They have bolstered there run defense with the addition of Kris Jenkins & can only add to the improvement of there defensive line.

The running game will be improved & they have a QB {Clemens} with a strong arm & mobility. Clemens is pretty nifty with his feet.

They still need that WR with size & CB opposite Revis. RT still needed thru the draft & this will strengthen team & allow Damien Woody to play OG/T/C or be the 1st sub off the bench due to injury. Another ILB to bolster the LB corp is good. Pass rush & pass rushers still needed to improve team. Ellis isn't getting it done. Drafting Gholston will only improve the defense & pass rush.

I honestly believe Kellen Clemens will fill need #5.

Jets fans have to remeber that when pennington started his career...he had Kevin Mawae, Kareem McKenzie, Randy Thomas, Dave Szott and Jason Fabini for an Oline.

When Kellen Clemens started his career...he had D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Adrien Clarke, Nick Mangold, Brandon Moore, and Anthony Clement.

That line was probably the worst unit in all of football last season.

Now that the Jets made some BIG moves for the offensive line...I expect that unit to get back to respectability and will give Kellen the chance to show some of the goods that the Jets saw when they made him their 2nd round pick.

He showed a couple of times last season that he can run with the ball and I like that in my QB's. I think he had over 50 yards in the Redskins game last season.

Be patient guys...this season Clemens will take over the QB job.

The OL has nothing to do with Clemens lack of accuracy. Stop blaming them for his shortcomings.

Why do you feel the need to put an apostrophe after the word Jets every time lately? You put an apostrophe after a proper noun ending with s to show possession. Using it incorrectly all over the place looks stupid as hell.

    lol

I don't want to derail this thread more than I already have so this is my last post. I don't consider myself someone who's great with the English language by any means, these apostrophes just annoy the hell out of me and I had to say something. I'm sure someone will be correcting my posts shortly.

Riiiight...because when you are getting hit as you throw...it doesn't affect your accuracy. Give me a break.

To be fair, there were also some passes that he threw where he had time and didn't come close to the receiver.

    Ah, New Jersey.

Where else could calling someone "Shakespeare" be considered an insult?

uh..Pennington made the same passes behind the same OL and completed almost 20% more of them. Maybe you can explain that. The offense never changed when Clemens took over, it remained the same.

how can you say that? if the QB is hurried, or on the run, all the time, don't you think his accuracy would suffer as a result?

I like Leon on kickoffs, but was never impressed with him as a punt returner. He seemed to make way too many fair catches when he had room to grab the ball and move.

Not sure if that was just me or if anyone else feels that way though.

Maybe the difference is that Clemens was only a 2nd year player and had just begun his playing career.

PS: Pennington sucked ass this year too. How many game lossing interceptions did he throw? How many dump off passes did he throw?

The Oline was the main reason for Clemens shortcomings this past season. No question about it.

Miller isn't a good punt returner...he was dropping the ball too much
