yes, I disagree that this one particular individual thinks that we're going to be picking in the number six spot and picking Mr. ryaN. Boo.
This is a different kind of mock. It uses team needs and a mathematical equation to determine the picks. The later picks aren't bad. I really like what the computer thinks we will do in the 4th.
I do not want Matt Ryan any where near a Jets jersey. I have him as the 3rd best QB in the draft behind Flacco and Brohm
Gholston ahead of Long?!! These guys are on crack! The way we completely looked the other way during Ryan's workouts could mean we are targeting him on the sly. I wouldn't put it past the FO, as franchise QB is one of our needs. I love Kellen, but the CS knows a lot more than I do. I wouldn't love the pick, but I wouldn't hate it either.
Ding ding ding! Drafttek is a CPU program that is run daily and is constantly being updated I love the CPU program because it generally is very good to the Jets, it measures Value/Reach vs. need, and they have built into the program a grab/lockout feature. Grab meaning if a player is too perfect for our scheme and is available in a particular round of value then the program will always take that player first if they are available. Lockout prevents the program from drafting a guy who is in the identical mold to the players allready on the team. example, is the redskins have the small speedy reciever in Santana Moss, so they wouldn't draft Desean Jackson because he is in the same mold, so the lockout feature prevents the program from taking this player because the team would be stupid to do so. however the last time I checked, the Jets Player Lockouts had not been inputed yet, meaning while us taking Ryan is suicide, the program doesn't know that yet... The Jets Draft through 7 rounds 1. Matt Ryan (qb) 2. Dan Conner (ilb) 4. Jordy Nelson (wr) 4. Craig Steltz (s) 6. Jacob Tamme (te) 7. Jack Ikegwuonu (cb)
Quite possible he could be the BPA at #6 that is also somebody we can use. Then we could either take him or make a reach move for somebody else.
First and foremost, the level of Qbs in this draft are scarce at best. Flacco will drop into the second round mostly because of team needs and value. Matt Ryan may be the only QB selected in the first round (which is how most experts have things playing out). Ryan has the luxury of coming from a system that has made him the most NFL-ready. Also, i never said he was going to be the best. I said he was going to be a beast. Ryan opted out of Senior Bowl, so i didnt get to see him play.
Note the level of competition he played against at Delaware... horrible, and in no way shape or form NFL level. So teams are worried that he is just the best of D-III, while his physical tools are unquestionable, they dont necesarilly transfer to the NFL if he can't keep his head and play against better competition. Look at Ryan Leaf, he had the tools, but not the brains to adjust to the level of competition.
Only if they believe in taking the BPA and then it's a no-brainer. Besides, two back teams are the thing now.
Two-back teams are a big thing these days. Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood will be one of the best. There is no way in hell the Falcons draft Darren McFadden.

Yes, he played in the subdivision, but he was also playing with a subdivision supporting cast. Someone mentioned a few days back that he'd never be a threat to run. Looks to me like he can run if he needs to, and seems like he can escape pressure as well. Edit: Pasted the wrong link
We need an impact player @ #6 Ryan is an impact player I've seen him win games at BC when his team was down thats how I grade elite QB's. With that said an elite cb would help our needs more so than a QB at this point. If McFadden, Dorsey or Harvey are gone. ILB is not so bad at 36 but Conner doesn't make explosive plays he seems to drag tackle at 36 we need an offensive player who can challenge for a starting role immediately RT or WR would serve us better. I love the Craig Steltz pick I doudt he'll make it to the 4th round he make plays whenever challenged in the passing game and supports the run very well LSU rarely blitz him due to his effectivness playing off. This would be a definate steal. Team Needs: CB,RT,SS,WR,DE,ILB
