His current contract only gets him $3 million for this season, so if we got rid of drob we could sign him. He keeps saying he wants to play for a team that gives him a shot at a ring though, so I'm not sure he'd even want to come here.

    CJ trade idea

OK chad Johnson on total access once again expressed his desire to be traded last night. Now I would be willing to trade our #1 to the bengals for Chad and their #2. With the money we save on the first pick we could sign Chad. With the two high #2s we could trade back into the end of round #1 for a DB. Everyone said we set ourselves up to pick BPA....well isn't that Chad? If they want a third next year or something of that nature tacked on then fine but you get the idea.
    Thoughts?

This is such a bad trade on so many levels....Johnson is a pain the ass, wouldn't fit our locker room, he's getting older, only a few more good years, Giving up the number six pick for Johnson and a later #2? No thanks.

    Chad Johnson is a pimple.

He is an aspiring Terrell Owens, relying on his entertaining temper tantrums to get him out of his commitments to the next place and a new larger paycheck.

Too talented, too much of a brat, not our kind of warrior.

The NYJ will be a big risk for him until we get the OL and DL fixed -- he might get busted up while we're trying to get the ball to him over the ears-pinned-back defense that is crushing our OL and QB.

While watching him on NFLTA...did you pick up on the fact that he is a complete asshole?

Chad Johnson is 30 years old, he is a menace, immature, and will not have the patience if Kellen Clemens takes some time to get into a grove.

No way this happens Jets fans! Move on!

Well, to his defense, this trade worked for me on Madden. Only difference is, I got to keep my other 2nd round pick. So, there's some merit to it.

This is a guy who assaulted a coach in the locker room during a playoff game after the star quarterback had been lost because he felt he wasn't getting the ball enough. I don't want that kind of guy. We're coming off a 4-12. This isn't the Patriots. We don't have an unreal locker room here.

Once again - With Chad "Pennington" as our starter ANY WR is a Waste of money

Clemens wouldn't be able to get the ball within 10 yards of Johnson. He couldn't get it within 5 yards of our own receivers last year.

Why on Earth would you trade a 1st round pick for Chad Johnson if the going rate for WRs is a 3rd or 4th?

Think about the trading market recently.

Chad Johnson would be as bad of a fit for this team as anyone in the NFL that I could think of. I wouldn't want him anywhere near a young QB like Clemens.

I don't think Chad Johnson would really fill much of a need anyway. Both Coles and Cotchery have shown a consistent ability to get open. Our problem with throwing the deep ball isn't limited to Pennington- it's because we have a conservative offensive coordinator. There's no need to load up on a position that's not weak.

'....Last week, the Jets had a deal in place with the Bengals for Robertson in exchange for a fourth- and fifth-round pick but Robertson failed his physical because of bad knees, said a person with knowledge of the results. He spoke on the condition of anonymity because he's not allowed to speak publicly about the team......'

You can't begin to judge Kellen from what happened last year.

What do you think he would do if he had a chance behind an OL that didn't wave the DL through as if it's a free day at the subway...?!

Last year, the NYJ skill players were obliterated by their own OL's abject failures.

You will be sorely disappointed this year if these CS / FO moves to build a respectable OL are successful, and your hate-punching-bags get to actually manifest their abilities for a change.

There are 11 people out there on offense, and the QB is dependent on most of them before he can do his job.

It's not Madden, and it's not Fantasy, it's real live football.

What the hell are you even talking about? Youd do realize that 10 yards is 30 ft right? So you are saying that Kellen Clemens, an NFL QB, couldn't get a ball within 30 Ft of Chad Johnson?

    Oye...

Maybe this team NEEDS a selfish player. I want a guy who wants the ball. A guy who wants to be the go-to guy, and is vocal about it. I'm not saying that guy is Chad Johnson, who is a very overrated receiver, but I'm tired of character guys. Give me a selfish player who wants the ball.

Nah...its good to want the ball, but this guy is more than just a ball hungry WR.

He tried to punch a coach....
He talks TOO MUCH smack on the field instead of just playing football...
    He is immature...
    He is 30 years old...

I really don't understand the desire for this guy...
