*Trade with cowboys...22, 28, and 92nd picks for 2008 6th pick because Mcfadden is there in this draft *Trade Drob to Denver Broncos for a 4th round pick 22. Limas Sweed, WR, Texas -the big play making reciever the jets lack 28. Gosder Cherilus, RT, Boston College -even though we just signed woody...Gosder is excellent depth and can take the reigns when Woody is done 36. Dre Moore, DE, Maryland -this guy is the beast we lack at DE, not much to say besides the fact hes gonna run train on our defense:lol: 92. Curtis Lofton, ILB, Oaklahoma -"The type who won't be a 1st rounder but will play like one." Scott Wright 101. Craig Steltz, S, LSU -could be the compliment to Kerry Rhodes...big strong player that can start strong Saftey 105.Tyvon Branch, CB, Uconn -Mangini stated he wants to increase the team speed and this guy is one of the fastest in the draft...he isnt the best playmaker but he is excellent overall 108.Jermichael Finley, TE, Texas -we just signed Bubba Franks and Baker is a great reciever...but what we lack is that tight end that has the mentality of a Wide Reciever who can make the big plays and split the defense 165. Jordan Drimes, OG, Purdue -Necessary depth at the offensive guard position for faneca and moore...him and wade make prolific backups 197.Keilen Dykes, DE, West Virginia -another big body and depth for the rotation...hes tall at 6'5 208.Marcus Monk, WR, Arkansas -at 6'4...this guy can be the redzone threat kellen needs put some time into this so i would appreciate hearing your thoughts
Gosder isn't a bad choice, but with Woody at RT, i think the insurance can come in a later round. Dre Moore is my sleeper DE as well. His athleticism makes him a dominant player in 2 years time, he's a bit raw. I've seen Lofton mostly on day one draft boards, so i dont know if he will be there on day 2. Steltz is underrated, but durability will keep him where we picked him... pure value. Monk is an enigma to me, i don't know if he can be like his father- he doesn't possess anything from his bloodlines... I feel like he is not a deep threat, but a possession guy at the NFL level. Could be a steal in the last round like Chansi Stuckey... i have little faith in him, but i do want him as a Jet. If this is my April weekend i'm happy, the depth is complete to make a run at the post-season again.
He's ranked at the bottom of almost every draft board i've seen this year... if its that bad, it might be a Chansi Stuckey deal-- which means great value in the 7th again.
I have a feeling Limas Sweed won't make it to #22. But if not, Devin Thomas, Malcolm Kelly and James Hardy will be around. Cherilus is a good pickup. No arguments there. Dre Moore might not make it that far since he ran that 4.88. It's more likely that Moore and Cherilus switch spots... Curtis Lofton is a borderline 1st rounder. I'd even take him at #28. No way he gets near that far. Steltz is a good pickup, but Branch will probably be gone. The remaining picks are solid as well, but Finley might also be gone.. I'd be happy with the draft, but there are a handful of guys that will not be around where you projected them IMO: (Sweed, Moore, Branch, Lofton)
Before he was injured, you would probably have seen him as a 2nd-3rd rounder. Even after the injury earlier this season I saw him rated as a 4th rounder.
Anybody else curious why we have 3 4th rounders? As far as I know we get our own fourth, and then New Orleans for the Vilma trade. Where did the third fourth come from? Also with the addition of Franks, i don't think we need a TE in this draft, which works well because I think we only have 2 fourths.... I like every other selection that we make however, i'm just worried about guys like Dre Moore and Curtis Lofton being there....
thanks for the feed....i kinda just used that as a filler(Lofton Pick), i think limas will be there if not...thomas or hardy would be fine...i could switch gosder and Moore and it would still work....i think branch would be there at 105...hes projected the fourth..maybe taken for his speed earlier but i doubt it...we really could use a receiver tightend instead of chris baker...i like chris a lot and hes really underused but we could really use a antonio gates or something...a reciever in a tightends body who would u use on the 3rd round pick?
I don't see Marcus Monk at that point in the Draft. Personally, from watching him play, I say he can be a Mid 3rd early 4th rounder although I would LOVE to see him in a Jets Uniform!
How about ILB Jonathan Goff from Vanderbilt? He might not be there, but there's a much better shot he is than Lofton. Both would be excellent additions.
ok....yea i was undecided between those two...it just seemed goff was too short...i think lol marcus monk is really low on draft boards like chansi last year...because they get hurt a lot..
If this trade happens I like Carl Nicks at 28. I think he will be rising fast b draft da plus Callahan has first hand knowledge. Wood scares me at RT after 5 games with the Lions. I hope he's providing depth and not starting the first day. Dre Moore could replace Ellis in a few years or sooner because his production has fallen lately. Big end and very fast I like Moore.
