Ive given it some thought, I think the Jets should go back to their kelly green Ken O'Brien 1980 Jerseys. Its a new day with Tannenbaum and Mangini- our jerseys should represent that with a switch back to the old, pre-Herm Edwards days. While our current jerseys are vintage, I feel that that the 80's jerseys are more vintage (even though they are newer). Especially considering that our defense is looking to return to the glory days of the New York Sack Exchange, i tihnk a switch to those jerseys is the right move. Thought Id see what everyone thought.
Neither. Update the scheme we have now (same colors) and incorporate a fighter jet type logo into the helmet. New Team, New Look, New Attitude Have the Jet logo something like a Tomcat, F-22 Raptor, or a Stealth Bomber. At every home game when we score blast The Gap Band's Classic hit " You Dropped a Bomb on Me".
it wont happen because the nfl, or so i hear, made the jets get away from the kelly green to go with a hunter green so that it would be cheaper to make jerseys, they i guess want all the green colors to be the same hunter green. when it happened i remember someone on here saying it was due to this, they claimed that it would give the opportunity to get more jersey numbers or some shit like that. dont kill me just typing what i remember. as much as those were the jerseys i grew up with i really do like our current jerseys, and they are surely much older of a throwback than the 80s jerseys. parcells brought them back so they really dont have any attachment to sperm edwards (if they did i would want to burn them all ) yeah i definitely like these better, like the helmets better too, although i wouldnt be terribly angry with some kind of changes as long as they dont go with those cheesy broncos type uniforms i wouldnt want to go back to the 80s unis, just really didnt care for them. they were a little better when we added a bit of black to them and started using the black facemasks in the 90s though before we went back to the old ones we have now.

Funny, I hated the black elements that were added in the 1990s. I like the current unis best, but would like to see the 1980s unis used as a throwback every now and then.
Agreed i fear songs after TD's being cheesy though... its bad enough people scream 1,23 FIRST DOWN after every single one, its tacky. Who are we the dolphins? But we do need a new logo.. A football, NY, and JETS doesn't cut it... A jet would look nice- a mean one- like "this missile is going up your ass" Fighter Jet. Black with green on it and NY on the wings. The one in Petrozza's avatar is a start as an idea.
The only big changes I can see us needing are a new logo, shoulder stripes that don't stop halfway down, and bringing back our white socks with the green stripes on them. Keep the black cleats though, the white ones just looked ugly and remind me of Vinny's achilles injury(don't ask me why).
I should have added a new jersey and logo to one of the choices, but I dont think I can change it now.
Agreed, the song idea is a little corny. Just a thought. Anyhow since I was a kid I always wanted to see a fighter jet in the logo. I think it can be done without being tacky. Plus this might sound far fetched but I think adding the fighter jet to the logo could increase the popularity of the team. The right marketing and the right logo could boost interest from outside sources. I have alot of friends tell me they became a fan of a team because they had a cool logo. Why do you think everyone loves Notre Dame? Kids of ages love fighter jets and wanna grow up to be a pilot. With the right marketing tools, get the kids interests perked up by making a better cartoon than shitty Generation Jets, they will ask their parents to buy the Jets gear...fast forward... 10 years down the road the Jets will be a one of the top 5 popular teams. That means more National games, high profile players, and maybe even one day a stadium of our own. Trust me I know this is highly unlikely but to me would be cool to see. Dream a little dream.
I like them both, I wouldn't mind either. However, I'd love to see them atleast one time rock the 80's jersey's, especially over those ugly titans unis.
I like the early 80s Richard Todd era unis. The black trim shiny green one suck. As do the green pants in any era.
I like our current green color scheme w/ the white helmets..I would however like to see the 80's "swoosh" logo return. I think that'dd look sharp on either side of the white helmet.

No, the Jets are green and white, period. Even when they suck and don't score a point, I've always loved the green and white. I like the current/vintage unis much better, but I wouldn't mind the early 80s Todd/NYSE ones for throwbacks if they choose to do that.
