Apparently according to an article the Saints are interested in getting either Glenn Dorsey or Sedrick Ellis and feel there is a large dropoff between the upper and next tier of DT prospects. Why not move down 4 spots and pick up a 3rd rounder we traded for Jenkins? At the 10 slot you could take Malcolm Kelly or one of the corners and then take a WR like James Hardy in the 2nd. Snag a DE prospect like Kendall Langford in the 3rd and other than maybe free safety we'd have a pretty complete team.
I would want to find a way to make that 3rd into the Saints' second. Packaging our 4th rounders, for instance. It might work, though. Draft-day possibility.
Trading down is the best option for the team in the long run, especially if it is only a few slots. They can still get a big time playmaker at #10 possibly the top corner or top reciever. As well as a chance to fill another need later in the draft. good idea to move down.
I dont know financially but I would think they would want some more secondary help, I think that we might as well go for a wideout, I dont know if I want the McFadden ego, but if Chris Long is still there. I would think that if someone comes to us begging us for our pick I say they have to take D-Rob off our hands as well
Trade down with who? Who wants to trade up? Why wouldn't the teams at those spots do exactly what you are proposing the Jets do and keep their extra picks? These threads get more ridiculous by the minute.
the bengals at 9 need a DT thats why the move up might happen with the saints I was thinking of a similar trade down with the Broncos they need one also bad
Nobody wants to trade up and all 32 teams would love to trade down...that's what the draft has come to because of rookie contracts being what they are.
At #6, Ellis or Dorsey would be the best available player. I'd pick whichever is left & put him up for auction. Worst case scenario, we have an elite DT prospect (Dorsey more likely at DE) on the team.
I think the Falcons are going to take Dorsey and a QB in round 2. Only two Elite DT (Ellis, Dorsey) in draft and one (Balmer) who is also 1st round potential. QB arguably you have 3-5 QB that could be picked in the first two rounds in no order Ryan, Brohm, Flacco, Henne, Woodson. I dont know enough about ellis to say he would make a good 3-4 DE and truthfully I dont think we need one I wasnt blown away by Colemans performance last year but he did the best job on our line and can only get better hopefully with a stronger supporting cast
He explains the who and why in the orignal post. Rather then rant about it, why not explain why one of Dorsey or Ellis would be there for the saints? Try a little constructive criticism instead of just running you mouth. The most ridiculous post in the thread at this point is yours.
