So after a 4-12 season Woody and the boys decided it be best to raise our season ticket prices. Oh and dont forget to add 50 bucks to that pre paid parking. Fuck you Woody! Get your money in by MAY 1!
Yes, I received my invoice. $115 per ticket x 4 = $460 per game. $460 per game x 10 games = $4600. Plus "General Parking" @ $20 per game = $200. Total - $4800 Are we done yet? OH NO!!!! We've got to add $4.00 for a f*cking "Handling Fee." Grand Total: $4804.00 Still no mention of a PSL in my invoice. It may interest Jets fans to note the "2008 Opponents" though (you guys probably already know this but I'll post it here anyway), but they only list the home games: "Our home schedule for 2008 will include Arizona, Cincinnati, Denver, Kansas City, St. Louis, and our AFC East Division rivals Buffalo, Miami and New England." So there you have at least the home games.
As a giant fan with 9 tickets I cant wait to see what my prices jump to. Im thinking its going to cost me an additional $2000 this year. Im more concerned about PSL's at this point. My brother has 2 jets tickets and i just called him and he is pissed but it was expected b/c of the new stadium.
Yeah, you didn't really think the billionaire was going to use his money to cover the bill for the $ 100m in free agents, did you? Season ticket holding in sports these days is all about them finding out your exact tolerance for getting r@ped, and then repeating the process each year. Sucks for fans, but they know that for every 1 guy with a ticket, there is two behind him with a higher tolerance.
The 100M for the players comes from the TV revenue the NFL receives totally. The PSLs is to recoup Woodys share of the building costs of the new stadium
I just got my invoice...$1704 fot 2 of the worst seats in the house. When you subtact out the 2 worthless pre-season games it's pretty my $95 per tix for upper corners.
I pay the good people at Bell Canada a 160 bucks for the year for NFL Sunday Ticket....and get the best seat in the house...on my leather reclining couch in front of my 50" Plasma HD TV. I don't know about you guys.... but that beats shelling out over 4 grande on a yearly basis.
I agree with you here, I have gone to games since I was very young have had season tickets in my family since 69'. I love every minute of going to the game, with family and friends. But the negatives begin to out weigh the positives. Too many times I have been there and it just hasnt been worth all of the effort and money to put in, due to bad weather, crappy drives, and bad games. Now with the additions to the tickets and the new stadium and possible PSL's. It is just becoming too much. I have moved to Baltimore and now catch only a few games a year, but personally if I had to pay for even just 2 tickets, whcih is inheritance, I would much rather prefer the route of saving thousands and thousands of dollars and just sitting in the comfort of my own home. But the turning point is missing out on games like the Monday Night Miracle, Stomping the Packers Week 17 (Best Crowd Ever) and The Colts stomping. Amazing how they do their best to price out real fans and let suits take the seats. Youth?
If you don't want to pay, give up your tickets. The Jets are no different from any other team in sports. Yankee and Met tickets cost $40-50 a game, which would be $2000 a season for 4 tickets and 10 games. Season tickets would run $16000 for 4 seats. Jet tickets are a bargain compared to hockey and basketball tickets. The reality is that the enormous amount of TV money the NFL owners receive keep ticket prices down. When a sport that 8 has eight home games a year is marginally more expensive than baseball, which has 80 home games, and less expensive than hockey or hoops, with 40 home games, it is not "ripping" fans off. Concerts and Broadway plays cost over $100 a ticket, making football a bargain. Besides, if you don't want your seats, there are 20,000 people on a waiting list that would love your seats. Vote with your feet and wallets, not your mouth or the internet.
Yankee and Met games $40-50 my butt. There are about 1000 tics at that price. Its about what it was and where its going dude. My upper deck seats for the Yanks are $68per game and wait till the next year for the new stadium. I have had Jet seasons since 1981 when they were $11 per game or $88 per season because Leon did not make us buy pre-season. We all love going to the games but slowly but surely its getting to the breaking point but no matter how bad it gets its going to be hard to give them up. Its about relationships. Me and my 4 friends who barely see each during the year spend 8 Sundays preparing, setting up, eating drinking and talking football for about 8 hrs. We are a family amongst ourselves and then of course we have the friends inside that we see each game, each year who also are family. Sorry Sec 227, I was just looking at the bright side. Face it, we all know whats coming and then it will be Dee day for most of us middle class kids going to college type people. PSL's will end an era and thats really behind the bitching, not the current price of tickets
I sincerely doubt once the PSLs are finalized that there will be 20,000 names on the waiting list. Further I would speculate that there actually maybe no more waiting list once the PSLs are in place
