I hate reading stuff like this...Do you even know his Wonderlic score? And when did strong arm + low wonderlic = Ryan Leaf? Terry Bradshaw don't strike me as an intellectual. Neither does Brett Favre.

Okay understood. BTW, I'm not totally adverse to the Jets picking up a QB in the draft. I'm just leery at those who just go by the measurables and forego what is not apparently seen.....brains and heart.

If we had to take one, I would take Ryan, Henne and Brohm ahead of Flacco.

I don't know to much about Joe Flacco except for the fact that this kid has an absolute rocket for an arm. I heard he threw the pigskin 80 yards at a recent pro workout. That's just crazy. I would def love if we drafted him in the 2nd. He should still be there in most peoples opinions so we shall see.

I dont see anything wrong with giving Clemens some time. It takes more than half a season to become a good QB. We took him in the second round by the way.

Where you take a QB makes no difference.. its their performance.. Clemens does need more time to prove if he's good or not. 8 weeks with an awful team isn't fair to any QB.

    QFT

If the Jets trade out of the 6th spot, they should take Flacco and Kevin Smith..

If that happens, I will slit my own throat.

I'm not so sure it was a validation. All I said was that Leaf didn't pick up the system. Wasn't he and Rick Mirer somehow linked at the hip?? :) I don't think Leaf was particularly stupid, he simply wasn't able to learn any offensive system he found himself required to run.

I wouldn't put too much faith in wonderlic scores although that does appear to be a standard used these days. Who's to say Flacco can't pick up the system and excel? Did UD run the wishbone??

At 6'-6", 230lbs, fairly mobile and capable of throwing a ball 40 yds accurately on a rope, I don't see how its so bad to draft the kid if he's available in the 2nd. Clemens might be fine, but at a generously listed 74in, he might be challenged looking downfield.

I say bring the kid in, cut Tui (who will never play God willing..) and see what comes of things. Its not like we're SB bound this year so why not make yet another attempt to settle the QB question..

Do you know what Flacco's wonderlic score was? If so please post it. If not I would suggest you stop bringing it up as an argument to question his intellegence. Thanks

Whether we pick a QB or not KC will get his shot. Rookie QBs take a good two years to develop. Keep Chad or Vet for 2nd string next year, with a Flacco as 3rd string. The following year assuming Kellen is doing well Flacco moves to 2nd string. The year after that it's anyone's game. The Jets have this luxury because they will have filled virtually all their immediate needs and the remaining ones will be filled in the draft.

This is a very good point. One that many have been trying to make. It does not hurt us by drafting a QB this year.

I agree with KSJets - Can we please give the kid some time. Playing with practice squad WR's and a swiss cheese line with ZERO running game. Come on already. Can someone please explain to me how Thomas Jones rushed for over 1,000 yards? That is a mystery to me.

What does the WRs have anything to do with him missing wide open WRs, throwing the ball into the ground, his piss-poor pre reads? Clemens is terrible. I hope I'm wrong, but I know I'm not. Sorry

At least every other year, and right now we're due. QBs take too long to develop to not have an up and comer on your roster at all times.

How much time do you need? In my scenario (3 posts ago) he's has next year to prove himself, if he's decent add the next year if he's someone we can build the team around as long as he wants, plus we protect ourselves if he's injured, or doesn't cut it. I reiterate drafting a QB does not mean that KC won't get his chance. You don't leave the QB position to chance, always have a veteran backup and someone you can develop.
