You kind of have to agree that the woody signing was bordering on a questionable. He is 30 and he's really not that good to begin with. The amount paid is questionable, but who knows. The other ones I don't agree with. Vilma is hurt pretty badly and may never be the same again.
This is all about the media taking their shots against a front office that is NOT media friendly. the best part is..theyd be ripping us if we DIDNT make all these signings.
The guy was a bad QB for 3 3/4 years. I was right in calling him bad. He FINALLY played like a big time QB but it took him an awfully long time.
Let's not crown him the next Montana either. Let's see him put together a full season and not just getting on a 4 or 5 game hot streak at the right time.
The signing will be a LOT better if they address RT in the draft. Especially now that they let Clement go.
What is the difference of 3 3/4 bad & the rest good I believe he will be wearing a ring & CP will not so what does that say to you?
How many SB do we have with Chad in his 8th year? What big time game did Chad have to take us past the second round? You were wrong on Eli and on Chad.
How many times did Chad have a Defense like that in the postseason? Eli minimized mistakes(until the SB) but the giants won b/c of defense not b/c of the QB.
regardless of the situation junc, Eli has a ring, and most likely Pennington will not be recieving one for leading a team to the superbowl and winning.
The two not one two come from behind 4th quarter TD drives had nothing to do with it? It was all D? He not only minimized mistakes he did something that you don't even understand, he made big game changing plays against an equally good D. Chad had an equally good D in 04, different but equally good and made no plays to change the game which is ultimately why we lost.
Elli has a ring? So does TE Kevin Boss, he must be great, we should trade the bank for him. (sarcasm) Eli didn't win the superbowl for the vaGiants, (he didn't lose it either). He had a great year though.
The media can naysay all they want, it's New York after all where it's always proper to accentuate the negative, but I much rather sign Faneca and Co. than get the sales bin free agents we've been getting in the past.
The D kept that game close where he could have 2 drives and wion the game. He also threw 2 balls that should have been picked on the final drive but he got lucky, he got lucky throwing that ball up for grabs to Tyree. Luck is part of it but it easily could have gone the other way. The Giants won the SB b/c of their defense.
He only got lucky because he was big enough strong enough and had enough arm to put the ball right on him in a crowd after escaping a sack moving out, keeping his head up field not looking for a check down. It's called making a play.
Guys, I'm with NYJUNC on this one. He hit the nail on the head when he posted: "He (Eli Manning) also threw 2 balls that should have been picked on the final drive but he got lucky, he got lucky throwin gthat ball up for grabs to Tyree" The Giants won because of pass rush - they got on Brady - and they won in spite of the fact that Eli should have been picked off three times (twice by Randal Gay) and that the officials should have called him "in the grasp" before his throw to Tyree who bailed him out.
No, it's called heaving it up for grabs. If Samuel hangs onto the ball on that sideline pass, this discussion doesn't even take place. But I guess it was Eli's skill that prevented him from coming down with that INT. Eli makes some of the worst passes you'll ever see, but his WR's go up and come down with them. Plaxico has bailed him out so many times I've lost count.
