The New York Jets have agreed to a six-year, $42 million deal with DE/LB Calvin Pace. Pace, a five-year Arizona Cardinals veteran. began his career as a defensive end before moving to linebacker in a 3-4 front in 2007. Pace will receive a $20 million signing bonus, with $22 million of the deal guaranteed. He chose between offers from the Dolphins and Jets. Len Pasquarelli covers the NFL for ESPN.com. Seems kinda much, hopefully he is good. No Gholston I guess. Here is the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3275059
wow, that contract seems a bit excessive for someone who's had one good season. hopefully he works out.
Wow this is a shitload of money...idk I mean I put my faith in Mangini's evaluation skills but this is a huge amount of faith for a guy with one season under his belt.
He better not be Bryan Thomas at $22 mil guaranted(if that is the real #, we learned today that Jenkins #s was incorrect).
As much as I want to bash the aamounts of money it looks like we are throwing around, I think the last thing Mike Tannenbaum plans on doing is putting us in cap hell.
This has to be the most amazing FA period I can remember as a Jets fan , wheather all these signings work out remains to be seen , but the intent is there , hats off to the FO and CS. Cheers Woody
Best move in the offseason so far, IMO. I love this guy and I am excited he will be a Jet. Sick!!! It is also a very big plus that we have so much flexibility in the draft now. Hopefully all this Gholston talk will die down now, that would be such a bad move. Seriously, just bad..
Unbeileveable! We are dramatically improved and this opens up our draft options at #6 to BPA definately!!!!
I'm not really feeling this...way too much IMO. Hope it works out. ^ Yeah I would expect to trade out.
I'm so confused. The Jets don't make moves in the Free agency. What the hell is going on? Is that sunshine i see?
There are so many options to keep us below the cap and Tanny is the best at it. I am not worried about that issue in the least.
