Yes because they can draft a young OG and put him behind Faneca on the depth chart. He can soak up all that knowledge for 3-5 years. So the FO can get the most out of their investment. We strengthen the line now, and for the future. But this is the first step.
wow we actually got a free agent after some shades of grey, and now i found a pats fan that isnt a scumbag, hell must be freezing over
Only $21 million is guaranteed and no one thinks he will make it to the 5th year. This contract is financially more favorable to the Jets than the original 4/32 rumor, which guaranteed $23 million.
As I said in another post. While our Coaching/Managing staff will never admit making a mistake, I have NEVER seen them make the same one twice.
funny a year ago they wouldnt pay that 1mill but now they pay all this $4. I understand the guy is better than Kendall but what was the deal with the mill last yr.
I think it is hard to deny that we are on our way now. An OL that pass blocks WELL and run blocks WELL. A little bit better. A little bit more now. Just a little bit better, and a little bit MORE now...
Our two greatest needs were being able to run the ball and being able to stop the run. We've taken care of both of those pretty well. However, we do have some work left, ie, firm up the right side of the offensive line and acquire some playmakers at the linebacker position.
With that being said, even with Faneca at 31, he's still 100 times better than Peter Kendall. Other than his increasing age, he hasn't shown any physical effects that would lead me to believe we're in trouble in three years...
haha now that is funny...although most people do hate the pats, i live with 2 eagles fans and a packers fan, everyone here hates the pats
