Big Sigh of relief. Huge contract. But having a hole at LG got clemens hurt last season. This will maximize the production of our offense and will make Ferg and Mangold legitimate lineman once again. If Mangold performed in 2006 with Kendall next to him with him maturing and Faneca next to him we will have a probowler on our hands.
I don't know if he is or isn't but I read that's what Pitt thought and why he was allowed to go into FA to begin with.
Faneca signed NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Jets have reached agreement with Alan Faneca on a five-year, $40 million contract, with $21 million guaranteed. The Jets added a year to the original offer, but Faneca will never see that money. He'll be lucky to see the fourth year. In the meantime, he'll bolster a pitiful interior rushing attack. The Jets are overpaying, but they have a leader to help their young linemen develop.
Show me the evidence that he is on the downside of his career? What the fact that he has missed only 2 games in his career?or his numerous pro bowls.31 is too old?I guess you would rather have a younger player like Adrien Clark or someone who is maybe 22?Some people will never be satisfied with anything.I guess we should purge this team of anyone who is 31 years old or older. How ridiculous.
if you pay for mediocrity....you get mediocrity....Faneca, if he stays healthy, is worth every penny.
This is a significant deal which illustrates that our beloved Jets are serious about making the playoffs next year. Given the trend to make playoffs on even years a smart move would be to place a large bet on the Jets making the playoffs next year. It would be nice that on the 40 year anniversary of our only Super Bowl victory we return to the Super Bowl and make it 2 in a row for New York football teams.
Good signing. This guy has a passion for the game and should make all those around him better. It's time for D'Brick to step up!!! No excuses!!
I haven't seen anything to that effect myself. Doesn't mean it's not out there, I just haven't seen any of it. I've put a couple posters on different boards on the spot when making similar comments and they ended up recanting because there claims were based on nothing more then his age.
I have a feeling he's not going to pay for us for 5 years...but what the hell. We did what we had to do...
Happy Days are Here Again!!! It's nice to see them making moves. Now trade Chad and the next 5 #1 one picks to Indy for Peyton. Super Bowl....oh yea
