couldn't agree more. Why do people think he is an 3-4 end? He's too short and doesn't occupy blockers.

Ive wanted to keep D--rob but his cap number is so damn high I think he is something like the highest paid DT in the league and for that fact we have to trade him if we can. Hopefully for a 3rd rounder to Detroit or Denver

If we could get that high of a draft pick for him, I'd be all for it.

I am going to say something a bit weird. Would there be any potential or any positive out of trying to convert DRob into our Right Offensive Tackle? I know this will never happen in a million years, but I would try to sell it to DRob as a way of potentially extending his career. I don't know it was just a thought. The worst DRob could say is no way.

  5. We basically have 2 options...

    1. Trade him, rid ourselves of his cap # and get value for him to use in the draft
    2. Restructure his contract and move him to end where he WILL be very effective.

Don't underestimate D rob. He's been a class act since being here and despite being misused has still managed to be our best DL. He's well respected around the league and IS an asset to this team IF his financial burden is softened.

It reallly is amazing how much respect he does have throughout the league and how much disrespect he gets from the Jets fans.. I think he could be successful as an end in our D but he would be more effective and more valuable to a 4-3 team. I'll take the 1st round picks or more likely package of picks.

Keep Robertson and put him at DE

Does the thought of a Ellis-Jenkins-D-Rob defensive front make anyone besides me really excited. D-Rob I thought would be great at DE in the 3-4 with his quickness. With that kind of defensive front, i think our LB's would be salivating.

The too short argument is a stupid as it gets. I've never once in my life heard about a 3-4 DE being "too short". Stupidest argument ever....

If there is interest in him that garners a 2-3 round draft pick, purge baby purge. If he is salvageable then switch him, but I?m not sure he's the right guy at DE; not enough speed (Can?t really say). Have we been able to gauge his speed to the QB at the point of attack? No! If there?s a deal to be made do it!
