Where is all the Justin Smiley love. I remember when he was coming out of Bama.....Alot of posters were on his jock. Well now he's a F.A.....He's coming off a few injuries, but he's alot younger than Faneca & Jets' can lock him up long term & he can grow with the rest of the Jets' youngish OL.. Seems like a much more practical & useful signing to me ...& also alot cheaper than this acient old guard Faneca. Jets' will be in same position in 2-3 years in looking to replace Faneca....why waste all the cap space....sign the younger talented players.
The Jets could sign him and Faneca, if they can allocate that type of cap room to the OL. Smiley's a better RG. Faneca gets more attention because he's better and he plays the left side. And 31 for an interior lineman isn't ancient at all.
