I will cry if we get Maddenhall. WTF do we need a RB at 6th overall for?

We have more needs than that, Thomas Jones is still a solid back, and it's not worth the money for a guy we don't need.

I would say Dorsey or Ellis. They would be solid at DE.

If not then trade down and get Quentin Groves or Kenny Phillips.

if it does unfold like that the jets will not get proper value in a trade down.....

remember the draft is a bit different this year so the on the fly deals will have to be done with a bit more urgency.

since these are the jets i fully expect the worst case scenario...

The nightmare scenario is if Gholston is on the board and we don't take him. We have other needs but if theres one guy I don't want to see on the Patriots next year its him.

Not saying that. Just saying the guys who could have helped us the most (Best offensive tackle, two best defensive linemen/pass rushers, best RB)could be gone and than we're faced with the prospect of Ellis who is 6 feet tall and Dorsey who has some scary injury stuff creeping up, and both are not fits for the 3-4. I think everyone else we'd pick would be a bad value at the #6 spot, and trading down might not be an option. So try to get a bit more analytical than making a wise ass response...

Given the choice, I would move down but if there were no decent deals to be had, consider this:

    1. Clady @ RT: Widely considered to have a higher ceiling than Jake Long and has the size to play the position. Could be a plus if ever Brick needs to be replaced on the line-up due to injury.

    2. Groves @ ROLB: Has blazing speed and is finally healthy. Could prove to be a better LB than Gholston because of his agility and ability to drop-back in coverage.

    3. The Best Available CB.

On the GGMB, the draft is always a nightmare scenario. Wherever the Jets pick, there is one less player worth taking. If the Jets picked 15th, it would be a 14 player draft. Two years ago when the Jets picked 4th, it was a 3 player draft. Never mind that 2 of those 3 players have been somewhat disappointing to date (Bush and Young) and the third (Williams) was labeled a bust before he put on a jersey.

There is plenty of talent out there other than these 5 players at OT and DE.

This man Ellis is mad slow, guys. And his three cone shuttle is nothing to right home about. Marcus Howard (just like he did to Hawaii as MVP in the Sugar Bowl) would just show him up. Ellis would be getting out of his stance while Howard was helping up the RB he just mashed for minus yards.

Just want you to know that Jonathan Stewart is 25 lbs. heavier and just as fast as Mendenhall. (both are sub 4.5 40 guys)

Miami is not just drafting the punter. They are drafting the punter's family.

Oh such a brilliant line. Hahah. I love Miami sometimes.

Ya know what? Fuck It. I say take Ellis or Dorsey, whoever is available, with our first rounder. In the second round we take Ahtyba Rubin. Run the 3-3-5 with Robertson. What the hell is the opposing team supposed to do against three monsters on the defensive line on every play? Exactly.

Three men, one thousand pounds. I have a dream.
