When you are picking in the top ten, obviously the guy has to have talent but if you are going to pay 25-35 million in bonus money so you have to get a guy who is sqeaky clean. Also it is very difficult to make a trade in the top ten because the cost is proibitive. That said, it appears to me that C. Long, J.Long, Dorsey and Ellis fit the best players who are sqeaky clean. Matt Ryan is squeaky clean but were not sure if he is a top of of the drat talent McFadden is really the wild card because he has talent plus baggage. Here is my top ten. Mia-C. Long Stl.-Dorsey, they may take J.long and that would break Herm's heart. Atl-Really difficult here. Atlanta needs sqeaky clean. I give them Ryan but they could very easily take J. Long or Ellis Oak-Ellis KC-Long Jets-In a very difficult call they take Gholston. He has no baggage and is in a position of need. Pats- No DB worth taking this high- Keith Rivers is the choice Balt-Ryan Clady Cinc-Derrick Harvey. They think about McFadden but pass No-Kentwan Balmer
Yeah just because some lunatic (Mike Mayock) think DMC is not the best rb everyone has "dropped" his stock. Mcfadden is the #1 runningback in this draft, especially after running a 4.27. If he makes it to 6 i would be pissed if we didnt either a)take him or b) trade him for a kings ransom.
Even with the 4.33, McFadden's stock is dropping and Mendenhall's 40 time was more impressive because of his size. With his ball carrying weakness, and propensity to get tackled on first contact because of a lack of lower body size there is a very good chance McFadden could drop in the draft. Mayock is anything but a lunatic and one of the better draft analysts.
Sign me up for the trading of "Run DMC" for a king's ransom please! i would love to weasel #22 #28 and #93 out of Dallas we could really get a lot better with those three picks...
Honestly nobody has any idea what Miami is doing at this point. I wouldnt be surprised to see them draft last years Mr. Irrelevant with the first pick in the draft. They are linked to at least 6 different players and a trade at this point Mcfadden, C. Long, J. Long, Ellis, Dorsey, Ryan, Gholston, trade with Dallas for 2 #1's and Barber. Honestly If Jones is offering that deal for #1, If i'm parcells I take that deal and run. Ronnie Brown and Marion Barber in the same backfield has some scary potential, not to mention all of the great value hanging around late in round 1...
