How about a swap in draft picks with the chiefs and a 4th or 5th round conditional pick? That locks us in place to procure a top notch lineman (O or D). Herm voiced a desire during the season to trade for Coles. I think the Jets need to jump on this situation before it Kendallizes.

are you crazy? KC won?t pick anyone we want, so we can just sit and wait. We would trade our #1 WR only that we can play more $$$ for our Draftpick.

I dunno, I feel like KC could pick up Dorsey, Long or Long. And I wouldn't be surprised if 2 of the 3 are gone by the time they pick.

Chris won?t fall. Picking Jake will be stupid. Dorsey doesn?t fit any position in the 34.

exactly, everyone was whining that there would be noone in the top 4 for us to pick and they would rather be where we are now. Now that were there people are complaining about that.

Were in a great position to take Gholston now and with Ryan rising up draft boards i tend to think someone in the top 5 will take him putting us in even better position.

    No.

Your just giving Coles what he wants.

Just let him sit out training camp, fine him, and not pay him his money that he wants.

If anyone on this team deserves the contract, its Coles. No one on the field comes to play more then he does. He is the best WR on the team. Hands down.

His last two years, are already guaranteed, he signed the contract, and already restructured for more money when we traded back for him.

I can understand if you have only a year left on the deal, but 2 years left?

What's next? A guy signs a 4 year deal and asks for a new one after year 1?

If he though he could get better money on the open market, then why did he sign the contract in the first place?

I love LC, he's tough as hell but he bitched about cash every other year. It's not like he only has a year left on his contract either, he has two more your left on a very good contract that he signed when he came back here.

Again...he's a great player but if we can go 4-12 with him I know they can go 4-12 without him.

I'll be suprised if we move LC....He just doesn't want to do another Training Camp. But we'll see.

First off, I love how LC plays. He always gives 100% and is willing to sacrifice his body to get the ball. Secondly, I'd love to keep him on our team. He leads by example. We don't have a lot of players on our team that I can say that about at the present time. Now unless we have somebody on the roster that can replace him without missing a beat, (see the Pete Kendel trade) we have no choice but to give him the money he wants. The only thing is to get insurance that if he goes down with another concussion and is no longer able to play, we don't get stuck holding the bill.

If Ryan is rising up the draft maybe there is a reason? Don't we need a QB?

I don?t think we should draft a QB that high, yet. I don?t have too much hope, that Clemens becomes the QB we need, but we have to wait and see.

And noomatter what Ryan does till the draft, he?ll never become a "Franchise-QB"-Prospect, he?ll be a big gamble nomatter what. And there?s still a 50:50 chance, that Atlanta will still be ahead of us, if he really becomes a true top 5 pick, we?ll have to get ahead of the Falcons to get him.

You could be right? On the other hand it wouldn't shock me at all if the Phins take him and he kills us for the next 10 years.

I have to agree with rillo on this one. We have heard him cry about the training camps for the two years mangini has been here. This sounds like Coles is taking the easy way out. I cant blame him from what i have heard its pretty tough especially for a guy who getting up there in age (in nfl terms at least). Let him sit out a few months and then give him what he wants. He is too good a player to just let walk.

Bang on. There are bigger problems than Coles that needs to be addressed. Worst case Cotch is a number one reciever and Stuckey, Mac and Smith. Very seviceable IMO. The Jets need to finish building the o-lne to get the run going and get a run stopper period.

I just think this is a training camp issue. And if it's not well he can sit out. We couldn't win last year with him in there so whats the difference.
