Yes this is going to be rather interesting since they pick right after us so we will be able to keep track as whose scouting staff was better
The Draft as well as Free agency . Last year we were all screaming address the lines and nothing happened . If that happens this year or if they bring in washed up players again. I will start to loose faith in this coach & GM.
Well you must have oodles of faith since there is little to have hope in when so many starters need replacing on both sides of the line
If they don't address the lines this time next year everyone on this board will be screaming for Woody to offer Bill Cowher whatever he wants to come out of the booth to be the Next Coach of the NYJ. The Tangini regime will not last another year if they do not address the lines.
It's easier to be patient for the D because you can actually see the potential there. You can see that with the right 2-3 guys they could turn into a top 10 unit. The offense is a different story. They were horrible last season and with a young unproven QB there's a lot more room for doubt, even if we plug the holes on the OL. The O needs at least 2 OL, a tall speedy WR, possibly a QB, and would greatly benefit from a blocking TE and a FB. If at least the OL is addressed then Clemens will be the WC, and will probably dictate how the O preforms next season. Not really sure what we have there yet so we'll just have to hold our breath and hope for the best. The D...well a DT, a DE, and an OLB and this defense could turn the corner. I'm convinced that it would improve by leaps an bounds by just adding one guy who can really get to the QB. Who knows how Vilma and Harris will play if they're on the field at the same time, incredible potential there, could bolster the D against the ground game as well. I get a "sky is the limit" kind of feeling when I think about the D.
Hm, so Vilma going to the pro bowl as a replacement is meaningless, but McNeill going ahead of Ferguson shows that Brick is an inferior player? McNeill was hopeless this year, fwiw. Another "name" pick. Unless 7 other guys were unavailable.
Just pointing out that fact which seems not to have been posted. As for JV I never denied that he did not go all I said his he was not selected just like McNeil. Have you evulated how much better our OL would have been if McNeil was ours instead of Brick?
First of all, BB at the most will be looking at one OL. People are quickly forgetting that the Pats OL was dominant in pass protection all year long. That is due to having elite talent at the guard positions and overall cohesion(Theyve been together for 4+ years). The only position I can see them upgrading is RT, where Kaczur is suspect. Thats basically one guy...leaving us a shot at any other RT we want. Also, the Pats have nowhere NEAR the cap room we do...and w/ new contracts needed for Moss, Samuel, Bruschi, Gay, etc(and they will sign ACOUPLE of them) they ddo not have the financial means that we do to get into a bidding war.
That last statement tells me what you really don't watch football games or have a clue. Did you watch McNeil play one snap this year? No, of course not. The guy was a turnstile, his play didn't even resemble that from the year before, and yes, he was probably voted in based on name more than anything else. Are you going to humor us some more by continuing to speak with your head planted firmly up your ass?
Our O-line would have sucked this year worse than it already did...McNeill struggled a good amount of the year...and that was with good G's next to him.
just think about this...our Offense was our strong suit in 2006 when Pennington was starting...what a difference one year makes. So you never know for next year...
I just joined in september, but I was a long-time lurker. Didn't Champ always say that Vilma's selection as a replacement was meaningless for some reason, but now McNeil's selection is supposed to prove that he's better than someone else? I think Champ has trouble evulating his own logical.

I guess everyone is just fine with entering the season with either Barrett, Coleman, Miller or Poteat as our #2 CB... Im not. Spend the money in FA, bring in a superstar type CB in A.Samuel to play alongside Revis, Rhodes, Harris, Vilma, and Gholston for years to come.
All I said is McNeil was chosen over Brick. You make what you want of that. Just like JV he is naturally an afterthought as he was not elected in but was chosen by whomever thought he was better then Brick
