Honestly, I know I'm not the only one that thinks this, but Bill Belichick has no class. When he walked off that field with :01 second left on the clock, I became so irate after being so happy that Plax got the TD. He knows they weren't going to win, the Giants knew the Patriots weren't going to win, everyone knew it. But out of respect, you let the Giants take the kneel down and celebrate by having the players on the sidelines running onto the field to join the offense. Granted, they did, but they did it after that fact that Belichick was ready to get into the locker room and out of Arizona asap. No class what-so-ever shown from that man tonight. I really hope the media blows the whole situation up, because it's a big issue in my opinion. He's won his rings already, let the Giants have their glory. What a coach, eh'?
The man just lost the biggest game of his life. He wanted to get the fuck off the field and he actually congratulated Coughlin and co. before leaving. The story isn't and shouldn't ever be how people react to the game's result; it should be how the result happened.
I actually agree. I don't get the big deal. The game was over. Belicheck didn't walk off - he walked to the middle of the field to congratulate Coughlin. It's not like he ran away. He was basically forfeiting.
The game was "technically" not over. Let the Giants have that special feeling of being able to kneel down the ball to end the game. Like I said, they still did it, but seeing Belichick rush off the field got me so angry.
He left his team on the field. he abandoned them. bullshit its the biggest game in the career of all those men, that he led, and he's just going to leave them there.. You don't just leave your players...the man has zero respect for the game, and the players he coaches.
Fine. The man appears to be cold and abrasive so anything he does is automatically classless and disrespectful regardless. Who gives a shit dude? It's about what happens during the game not after.
Couldn't have said it better myself, to leave those 11 guys on the field to see it through themselves is awful, you win as a team and you lose as a team
yeh funny how that happens, I was impressed that Moss stayed around until it was all said and done, he was a class act today, Brady scampered with the Emperor
To be fair, there were photographers already on the field who probably thought that the clock had run out and so probably did Belichick. He did meet Coughlin in the middle of the field. The Patriots took the loss very hard after thinking that they were going to win for sure. Maybe that had something to do with their poor play. Belichick could barely talk during the post game interview. I think they bought into the line that they were the best team ever when they should have known that they should have lost at one game. Even the lowly Jets played them even at Foxboro. They should have been a little bit more humble toward the end of the season and before the SB.
He did absolutely nothing wrong. Considering all the crap he's done, I don't understand why people are reaching for things to complain about. Tons of people were on the field at that point. He had just lost the biggest game of his career, who knows if he even looked at the clock? He congratulated Coughlin, and that was that. As an aside, watching him walk out there, the loser, for the first time in over a year...Priceless.
A lot of people give a shit. He cheated during some of those games. It's what he does before, during, and after the games. He's a cheater. He cheated on his wife, and he cheated at his job. The guy's a dick. I don't care that he walked off the field early...I just think he's a cheater.
Explain why it was a big deal when Moss did it a few years ago when he was a Viking and they were gonna lose to Washington?
I'd agree with you, had the referee not tried stopping him. He put himself before his players, you just should never ever flat out abandon your guys. Hatred aside, I understand him being upset, but there is no excuse for the abandonment or putting himself above everyone else. He isn't and will never be a greater being then the players he stands along side of. Grown men buy into the things he says, and teaches, it has to be a gut check to see him leave without even caring a damn about those same guys. Maybe It doesn't mean anything at all to them though.
There were 2 seconds and the game was essentially over as they had to recover an onside kick but I didn't think it was a big deal but the media made it out to be because it was Randy Moss who only became Saint Randy this year. I'm just curious how the media spins this ne.
