Actually if you sat in read it again & again you may actually finally catch the logic in it. When you are in a business like the NYJs are it behooves them to get the finest possible talent available. You can can say with CP over TB they surely did not. Do you not agree with that?
Of all your ridiculous arguments, this very well might be your most ridiculous. Every GM and scout in the NFL had Pennington rated above Brady in that draft, every GM also passed on Brady 5 times each, including Belicheck. Pennington was the consensus top QB prospect in that draft, now granted it was not a great year for Qbs but he was a QB with a first round grade. Brady was considered a second day pick with possible backup potential. The Patriots lucked into Brady, Kraft lucked into Brady. It really has become one of the best success stories in NFL history. You dont find many 6th round Qbs that become the best QB in the history of the game very often. Its really easy to sit back on your couch 8 years later and say it was a mistake. At the time though the Jets got the best QB prospect in the draft.
I think at the end of the day nobody knew how good Tom Brady would be. Everything that happened to him since Mo Lewis started this mess has been Divine intervention. As good as the Pats are at finding and grooming talent there is no way they could have possibly know that Tom Brady would be anywhere near what he turned out to be. If they did think that he would have turned out this good there is not way they would have risked letting him slip to the sixth round. Chad Pennington got a first round grade due to Randy Moss. It is no secret that all of his Qb's including Brady have had their best years when they have him to throw too. Moss took Cp stock and raised him from a third round pick to a first round one. The difference between the Pats and Jets if if the Pats saw the Jets had a Qb with the skill of brady there is no way they would try to go to battle with Chad to try and beat him. No matter who they assembled around him. They do not settle for Mediocre players. They also get rid of good players before it is too late so a guy like Coles would be traded while he still has value as opposed to keeping him around until his is carried off the field like Chrebet. The difference is the Pats make moves to win and the jets make sentimental ones to appease the fans.
Look firstly I am not interested in EVERY team in the NFL but the NYJs. You should also be as well. Secondly not every team wanted a QB in that draft so those can all be eliminated. Instead of constantly defending a team that is now 0-39 in bringing us a championship you may ought to want to sit down & read my post over & over again & maybe you will catch it. This is exactly why the NYJs have been & will continue to be a bottom feeding team because there management has & continues to stink
Hmph. . . this thread has gone lame. I remember the Oooold TGG days, when one of these threads would launch itself up to 20 pages in a couple days. Someone PM BigDog and tell him his services are needed.
Well we already agreed on D right 8 of the 11 must go since there are only 3 positives on that side of the ball. On O we can start with 2 Gs & 2 tackles a TE pass catching threat. A copuple of speedy big go & get WRs would not hurt either especially if KC is going to be the starter. Those all should be real obvious so why would you or anybody else even ask?
We have to compare the team to the Pats because that is level our Jets have to get to if we are to ever win a Superbowl. Makes no sense to compare ourselves to the Dolphins. Lol..
I wish I would have seen it but no matter what they say there is no way they could have know Brady would have been this good.
By EVERY post you make you prove it more & more. I also do not have to prove it is MHO of you plain & simple
So you're basically saying that about 40 out 45 players need to be replaced. Wow good plan there champ, hopefully they can do that this offseason..
I think it's reasonable at this point to say that 35 out of 53 players, or about 2/3's need to go before the Jets are going to be a strong team. They could get away with replacing only 18 if they are willing to only go 9-7 or 10-6 at the high end of the process.
