Hey, I will definitely take your word for it... I dont really watch a lot of college ball and definitely don't especially watch O line college talent which is hard to judge regardless... I just hope we can pick up 1 or 2 guys who can step in and do something at the pro level... IF you feel this is the guy then from your mouth to Tangini's ears.

The two guys we need are Sean Locklear and Jacob Bell. Both proven in the NFL, started on good teams. Both relatively young. They should sign both of those guys as fast as they can so that they know the offensive line is in good hands.

    but can he do cartwheels?

  6. I'm def. on board for Bell, as I think he'd look damn good next to Brick.

But Locklear i'm alittle apprehensive about. I havent watched him closely for awhile..but from what i recall he's a good pass blocker, and good in space..but is not a great Point of attack, drive blocker type. At this point, we already have guys who are athletic and good in space(Mainly Mangold and Brick), and really what we need at the RT spot is someone who can anchor the running game. The 3 guys in FA i like for the role are Jordan Gross(Would be pricey), Stacy Andrews, and george Foster. All 3 guys are great drive blockers and at least good pass blockers.

I think once you said Brick moves to RT, you lost a lot of people in whatever else you said.

Heck, lets switch Pennington over to Guard for that Matter.. YIPPEEEE!!!!! :breakdance:

i do agree we need a left guard via FA or draft, but your almost not always going to get a player like mangold in the draft every year, maybe every other year, to me if you want to win now you need a veteran for a couple of years while the rookie guard gets the playbook set, this is the NFL not college, very few Olineman get it that quick.

Disagree - Every year in the Draft forum we pick OL with ease... There's a sweet spot for OL in the late 1st thru third rounds and the majority of these picks, at least the one's discusseed in the forum have become real good players...

There's a lot of value in drafting OL in those round relative to salary....

Especially guards cuz teams usually don't pick guards in the early to mid 1st so, if you have a pick like the Jets do in the early 2nd you basically get your pick of amongst the best guards available.... Just like we got Mangold.

I'd like to see a mix of FA and Draft picks.. Maybe 1 good FA signing and 1 2nd round draft pick plus a pick later on.... AT LEAST!!!!

QFT. The late first round - early second round is an excellent time to select an interior OL, like the Patriots G Logan Mankins. We should be in a position to select a guard who will make an impact on this team, whether we fill the LG spot in FA or not. It isn't like Moore is the answer at RG.

    Anthony Collins 6' 6" 308 projected draft round 2nd
This is a draft analysis of Big Ant..looks to be a player but HOF who knows

Positives: Prototypical tackle build. ... Good height, girth and long arms. ... Not a finesse player -- he likes to mix it up and give a strong punch. ... Likes to put his man on the ground. ... Forget about bull rushing him, as he sits in the chair well maintaining his balance. ... Adequate explosiveness coming out of his stance. ... Keeps weight on forward leg while setting in pass pro to prevent inside rushes. ... Doesn't let go once locked on, both pass and run blocking. ... Has the straight-line speed and athleticism to get out in space and hit a moving target.

Negatives: Not the quickest lateral movement. ... Chops his feet instead of sliding to mirror rush ends. ... Slow in extending his arms in pass pro, especially facing a really quick outside rusher. ... May get moved to right tackle if his technique doesn't improve quickly, at least for his first couple of seasons.

Don't the negatives spell another human turnstile, like Clement or Clarke.

Every guy drafted will have some negatives..If it looks like just learning better technique then its a good risk. to draft..He sounds like a right tackle though.
