I heard on am790 the ticket here in Miami, that the Giants are highly considering trading Shockey. They said that Shockey brings disruption to the huddle, and puts a ton of pressure on Eli. I feel their might be some merrit to this rumor considering Eli has stepped up his game quite a bit without Shockey in the picture. The question of the day was wether or not Parcell might want him for the Dolphins due to his strong demeanor similar to his own. The radio host stated, "This is highly unlikely do to the fact that Shockey disrespected him by stating, Parcells nickname 'the big tuna' was a faggety sounding name." If this is true, do you think the Jets might make a run for him? Would you want him on your team?
I doubt the Giants are concerned about trading Shockey now.......don't they have an important game to be concerned about next week???
I've dealt with Shockey a few times at work... he's an even bigger ass off the field as he is on... Let him go ruin another team
TE is not an issue for this team! Chris Baker is our TE, end of story. With that said, I wouldn't be totally surprised if Shockey was traded. He isn't the face of the Giants, and isn't the most popular (within the huddle and as far as jersey sales go and all that stuff). The Giants are obviously doing fine with out him. Kevin Boss is doing a good job filling in for Shockey.
I dunno Shockey is a phenomenal tight end. Since he has a mouth like Terrel Owens, it almost makes me say no, but he is not TO his distractions, are milder as opposed to guys like TO and the Randy Moss pre-pats. He can change a game, and dear god, can you imagine our offensive fronts? Who wants to try and guard Baker, Shockey, Coles and Cotchery on the same play? forget tossing in a shifty Rb like Washington, or a big tall physical reciver some of us want in the draft like James Hardy or Limas Sweed. Dear God that would be a very scary tandem to try and defend. it would be our own "pick your poison" that the Pats have. how could you possibly guard against that?
Why would any Jet fan even consider this? First the Jets have a tight end. Second, the Jets would have to give something up - draft picks - to acquire him. Third, the Jets would have to pay him. Fourth, he is an asshole. Fifth and finally, there are far more pressing needs than to use draft picks and cap space on this jerk.
While I hate passing up players because they are not 'Mangini' guys or character players, it is my belief that, when you already have a very good, selfless player at the position on the roster, bringing in a jerk to replace him is unnecessary and can mess with chemistry... If we had a hole at TE, I'd say absolutely, but with Baker already in place, I'll pass... We have much more pressing needs...
Jeremy Shockey class day! Jeremy Shockey Class day! Clearly I remember, picking on the boy -- seemed a harmless little F*%#! Yes, get him if we can.
can you imagine this board if he ends up with brady next year? omg. try defending shickey, moss, the slot bastard, and their rb on the same play. but seriously folks, does anyone know if shockey has ever played NG in a 34 D? that's the real question.
hahahaha that was priceless. but everyone knows his is retarded so no reason to create a new thread! but very good post nonetheless! im installing fn turbo tax right now and really needed a humor break. "shockey the retard". sounds kinda faggy!
Hmmmm – Shocky on the Jets? Where would he live – I wasn’t aware of any trailer parks on Long Island?
I would take him depending on the price. For some reason, certain people on this board dismiss adding any skill player because they think it's impossible to fill more than one need in an off-season.
