Here's what ESPN says we need to do...... Will the New York Jets find enough playmakers to improve their offense? Without a doubt this team is in dire need of playmakers on both sides of the ball and the Jets took a huge step back in Eric Mangini's second season as the head coach. They need to make a decision on who the quarterback will be entering the 2008 season: Chad Pennington or Kellen Clemens. Regardless of who is under center, the Jets don't have enough impact players, especially on the defensive side. Even though their personnel is best suited for a 4-3 system, they have relied on a 3-4 and a transition would be difficult. Plus, they lack a big-time pass-rusher and a corner opposite Darrelle Revis. General manager Mike Tannenbaum will be under a lot of pressure to get this organization turned around.
Your outside LBs are your 3-4 playmakers and the jets are without a guy to rush the QB on both sides of the 3-4.
im glad to see at least one news organization takes time to deliver insightfull, well analyzed imformation. for the pats, espn reported their strengths are tom brady and the recieving core. dont even pretend you knew tom brady played a key role in the offense prior to that article. jok: what do you get when you combine espn and an explodiong cannon ball? ans: Madden
If this is supposed to be a quote from ESPN Insider, they need to know the name is spelled Reavis, not Revis.
LOL! Maybe I am--Point I was trying to make, although probably conveyed poorly, is that in my opinion, Brian Thomas (big new contract and all) is a slug and Victor Hobson won't be missed. How about some pressure on the QB just once from the jets outside LBs?
Not disagreeing with you at all. It'd be nice if we could actually get any amount of pressure from a 4 man rush. It would be nice if our defensive backs were used as an occasional opportunistic blitzing method instead of our only means to confuse a QB in the backfield.
