You predicted that Clement was going to blow the bit one? Step aside, here comes Nostra-freaking-Damus...
Yep sure did when he was UFA & NOBODY wanted him but us I said he would again be the starter. He is a perfect case of what is wrong with this organization. NOBODY looks to upgrade anybody once they plug them in as a starter. The same could be said for Harris & JV before JV was hurt. Ah yes how about you explaining away why we have not appeared in the SB in the last 7 years & now the NEPs will be appearing in there 4th in that same 7 year period
You really can't pick up sarcasm, can you? You are really the smarTERest guy on this board, hands-down. You want me to explain why we haven't appeared in the Superbowl? How about you scroll down about 3 or 4 pages and answer my questions in the "Knowledge" thread, genius....
If I owned the team which I have no shot at I would have replied since it would only be pure speculation. However please reply to my question as to what your theroy is why we have failed in the last 7 years of Woody ownership whereas in that same 7 year period the Pats have succeeded
OK here's my wisdom. Sit down in your rocker and make sure that the "Depends" are good and tight for this tidbit, as you might very well soil your pants for the 2nd time today.... The Patriots are a far better team!!!! Yes, you heard it here first- call the newspapers and alert them to this breaking news... Superb coach, aggressive ownership, Top 3 qb of all time, depth in nearly all areas and they have picked up the right personnel when needed...
See that's the problem, I highlighted it for ya. This statement was proven false all over this thread and you keep repeating it, as if repeating it will make you right...but let's recap: 1) Callahan's reputation as an Oline coach, and a coordinator (especially in the run game) is excellent and preceded him. Hence why Tampa, a playoff team, was also trying to hire him. A fact you just try to gloss over and ignore. 1a) He is being brought in for his expertise on the Oline and run game. NOT AS THE HEAD COACH. AN ASSITANT. 2) You see no ability because you are comparing his records as a HC and applying it to his ability as a coordinator/position coach. Not only is that illogical, it takes things out of context. I wouldn't want him as the head coach either. But his track record as an Oline coach and run specialist can not be denied. 3) The idea that a person is a bad head coach, so can't go back to doing what he does best as an assistant is moronic. The examples are endless, but you can start by taking a look at the coaching staffs of the Patriots and Redskins. But hey who needs facts and common sense, we have champ. Being negative for the sake of being negative is counterproductive and detrimental to your argument. Maybe you're just one of those people that just likes to bitch.
Look all I am doing is giving my HO & sorry if it does not fit into your scheme of things. 2 years from now or even after next year (hopefully not) but could be you maybe singing a totally different song about BC just like you had to do with the Herm even though you said you were just pulling my chain & you really disliked him
I am not arguing your opinion, never was. I am arguing the statements that you are basing your opinion on. People bring up facts to dispute what you are saying, and since you have no real facts to counter, you try to change the subject to Vilma, or Brick, or Bradway, and now Herm. And I have said SEVERAL times that I have no idea if Callahan will do well with the Jets or not. Unlike you, I do not claim to be able to predict the future. However, based on his past experience and reputation with the run game and the Oline, this was a very good hire. No one can tell the future, so 2 years from now is irrelevant. I hire people all the time at my job. I can only base it on their resume, I don't have a crystal ball in my ass I can rub to see if it will turn out well 2 years from now. I never liked Herm, even though you accuse me of it whenever you don't have something relevant to say to me. So I didn't have to sing a "different tune" when he was fired. I challange you to find any of my posts were I stated I liked Herm or supported him. The problem I had with you was the logic you used to base your arguments on (which I have stated several times). You see people can come to same conclusion, but not agree on their reasoning behind that conclusion. For example: We can agree the sky is blue. I say it is blue because of a particular light wave bouncing off of the atmosphere. You say it is blue because 200million smurfs exploded in the sky. See the difference? How you can interpret that as "pulling your chain" is beyond me. But this is irrelevant to the discussion at hand.
Well champ, here are some direct questions: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?p=753804#post753804 I know you will not reply but answer these simple questions. And do not play the old " look and you will see my response" Answer them here or STFU: How would you fix the team? What coaches would you pursue? What free agents would you pursue? Who would you draft?
Well, you'd be friggin' wrong then. Vilma and D'Brick do not go on "your side of the ledger". You and a select few are the only ones who think Brick is a bust, and you are the solitary person on this site who thinks Vilma is a bust. (While you have those that feel he can't play in our 3-4, no one but you thinks he's a bust.) Sell some penny stocks then buy the team. As for speculation, that's ALL YOU EVER DO. Speculate. That and spit some venom once in a while to get people riled up. I just spit coffee on that one.
How would you fix the team? What coaches would you pursue? What free agents would you pursue? Who would you draft?
It's simple. Top down excellence. They stumbled upon an all-time great quarterback and an all-time great head coach all at once. In the beginning, they had play makers on defense that were veteran, intelligent, and hard working. They've since bolstered that same core with young talent. I don't think there's a better front 3 in the game than Seymour, Warren, and Wilfork. They made smart trades and decent signings and they draft well. The difference between them and the rest of the league is, quite simply, Brady, Moss, and Belichick. That's why we haven't won. We don't have Peyton Manning, plain and simple, and that's just about the only way you beat those guys. -X-
And to think that HC was fired by an even more dismal franchise in the Browns. And their QB was passed up by 31 other teams 6 times. And Moss was jettisoned by 2 other reams. just using champ logic.
I think if you were to talk to those Raider teams back in 02, they would disagree with the zero reputation champ. The guy did a hell of a job with those Raider teams under Gannon. I cant see how you can go by his stint in Nebraska because everything he did under Al Davis has to be thrown out the window. We are both Charlie Wiess fans correct? Well Charlie seems to be suffering the same fate of not being able to recruit...but still being a hell of an offensive mind. He took over a team in ND with talent and hasnt done well up to this point in replacing it. The greatest minds in sports with no talent do not look that great after awhile. As far as your love and respect for the pats goes...and its deserved..they are a great team...I think even you will agree that BB, Kraft and Poli would probably not even have a ring up there..not one..if it were not for a 6th round draft pick called Brady. When you win 3 superbowls by a combined 10 points I believe?, they would have none without Brady. Brady has made geniuses of the whole group. Im not ready to annoint BC a great coach...but you and I just disagree with his resume..which is pretty damn solid if you throw out an attempt at recruiting in College football.
