I have no "buddies" just hookers, bookies, and cellmates.

(10points if anyway gets the movie reference, well it is more of a pseudo-quote)

So in your mind, no coach is ever allowed to be fired? How can you still support Billick then? I think they need to increase the drip on your meds a little bit more.

Cause I think if you are going to hire someone who was fired Billick is way better choice then BC. JMHO

Funny thing is, Belicheck got pushed out in Cleveland now look at him. Wade Phillips is on his second or third trip as a HC, and he brought Dallas to the playoffs. Washington's whole coaching staff is filled with ex-HCs and they are a playoff team. Jauron in Buffalo is on his second stint as a HC. The list goes on and on.

Just because a person isn't suited to be a HC doesn't mean he now becomes an awful coordinator or assistant. But champ refuses to accept this fact, even in the face of rather overwhelming evidence.

And Callahan's knowledge and success coaching the run game and Oline can't be denied. Whether it works out with the Jets remains to be seen, but this was an excellent signing because of his expertise in this area alone. And I have a strong suspicion that they hired him as an "Assistant Head Coach" so another team can only hire him as a HC, and they don't have to worry about him leaving for another coordinator job.

I think Champ may be on to something here. Perhaps we could get Billick to coach offense, Belichick to coach defense, and make Parcells our special teams coach.

Is a resurrected Vince Lombardi as Assistant Head Coach too much to ask?

You're going to hire an OC whose offense sucked for nine years?

Or an OC who has had a highly rated offense?

    You make no sense.

Billick when he came to Balt was the supposed newest O guru in the NFL from the Vikes. You can check that out. Look you have your opinion & I have mine & time will tell who was more correct

Yes, that is correct, he was the "newest O guru in the NFL" almost a decade ago. He's had nine years as the HC of the Ravens to show it, and each year, the Ravens offense SUCKS. He rode that defense every single year. The facts remain that the offense in Baltimore sucked, even with him as the playcaller.

When Callahan was the OC with the Raiders, they had a very productive offense. Even when he was the HC the offense was pretty good.

You just like living in the past. It is 2008, not 1998.

Once again do you read before you respond?

I will post again what I wrote:

Just like with top free agents and high round draft picks, no one knows if they will work out or not. All you can do is look at what they did in the past (resume as you put it) and see if they fit a need. Whether it works out or not, no one can tell. I don't know about you champ, but I can't see the future.

No I do not live in the past even though it is most easy for you to say that. I am judging BC on what I saw of his abilities at Oak & Neb nothing more & nothing less. You have a different opinion just like you do with JV & Brick which is fine so you go along on your merry way thinking while the NYJs will continue to be bottom feeders because of the way they operate. I am sure in 1 or 2 years your tune will be far different then today on BC/JV & Brick

& I am saying you are way, way, way over estimating his abilities which I guess you did not catch from my posts

You wanted Billick, who had dismal offenses in Baltimore. The guy we hired had good offenses in Oakland. YOU are the one who is over estimating Billick's abilities, not us.
