2007 was also BY FAR my worst year ever for sports.

    Jets- disgusting
Mets- historic collapse and most of the players didn't seem to care, which has caused me to no longer care
West Virginia football- choked against a shit opponent in Morgantown when they were one win away from playing in the national title game

    Also awful:
    Patriots undefeated
Cubs and Yankees made the playoffs
    New Orleans Saints blew
    Patriots-Giants Super Bowl
    Tony Romo and the Cowboys
Dolphins avoided a winless season by winning a game in OT

    good things:
Cowboys went 0-1 in the postseason
it can't get any worse than 2007 for me, so the future might be okay

I don't think I like sports anymore. I rarely ever read the sports section anymore. I do still read Sports Illustrated. I think I may take a break from watching channels 207 and 212 for a while.

I'm 35 and my hatred for the Giants knows no bounds... Their fans are as fair weather as the Pats, the media absolutely sucks their ass even when their terrible... their coach makes a complete asshole out of himself with his sideline behavior every Sunday...I do find in hilarious that they went on this run without Shockey, hmmm.... can you say locker room and on field cancer?

I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually want the Pats to win....

My flag waving Giant fan in laws don't deserve that much happiness

I'm actually like you with the Mets- I wasted a whole damn season watching them and they return the favor by rewarding that loyalty with a historic collapse. Why the hell should I watch the games in April when there is always the possibility they'll choke in September? I'll be honest, it's the first time I'm actually angry towards a franchise for losing. With the Jets, I'm so used to them sucking balls. I'm also not really looking forward to Jets football next year like I am at this point virtually every season. I'm jaded as hell.

I'm partial to BE schools, and watching WVU annihilate Oklahoma was awesome to watch. But you're right, they had a gift-wrapped ride to the national championship. Everything else about this year sucked

I told my girlfriend I'm rooting for whoever has the best chance at beating the Patriots, and if that is big blue, then so be it!

    Go Giants!

One thing I have respect for regarding all you suffering Jets fans...

It is good to see that some here really do hate the Giants, and won't jump ship.

Being from Mass, most "New York fans" here just jump ship to whatever new York team is doing well, Jets/Giants, Yankees/Mets, or whatever. It has a lot to do with what I think of New York fans.

But....it is good to see that there are plenty of "Jets" fans, and not just fickle "New York team" fans, regardless of who you decide to root for in the SB.

I imagine the aftermath of a Giants Super Bowl victory over the Patriots might be very hard on you Jets fans for the next year, what with all the Giants fans running around New York.

what i don't get is the "why hate the giants?", "we only play them in preseason and every 3 years, blah blah blah..?" questions.

where are you people from? Even if you don't have diehard or bandwagon Giants fans rubbing your face in there successes, don't you realize that the Jets are treated as 2nd class citizens, CFL, Bush league team in the NY Media.
Hell, the Mets are treated better than us! The Jets could win the super bowl and be lucky to have a half a page in the sports section.

you people who wonder why some Jets fans hate the cross town team live in a bubble.

great if you root for the G-MEN, don't expect every other Jet fan to.

i root for a tornado and will be spending time on my 360 during the game.

What the hell are you talking about? Most fans are hardcore fans. I'm a Jets fan above all else.... and a Yankee fan, but I don't care about baseball nearly as much as football. Most everybody I know is a hardcore Jets OR Giants fan, Yankee OR Mets fan, Devils OR Rangers fan.....

For me, there is not nearly as much rivalry or hatred between the Jets and Giants as there is between the Yankees and Mets... for many reasons. I wouldn't put the Giants on the top of my rooting list, but I had to root for them over Dallas, and for sure over the Packers.

Now, there is no doubt that I'm rooting for them over the Pats. A lot of ppl are like that. That does not mean I'm not as hardcore of a Jets fan as there is.

While I agree that Jets/Giants is nowhere near the level of Mets/Yankees Devils/Rangers, etc. It is beyond comprehension to me how any Jet fan living in the NY/NJ area could possible root for the Giants. As much as I hate the Patriots and Dolphins, I know two people that root for those teams, while everyone else that I know, with the exception of a few fellow Jet fans, are Giant fans. Growing up in the 80's as a jet fan in northern jersey wasn't exactly easy either. This is the worst possible superbowl for us. What makes it even worse is that I have to root for the patriots.

Very true. It's not a Yankees/Mets type deal, not by a long shot. I'm a diehard Jets fan, but I always root for the Giants in the NFC. Sure, I laugh and joke when they lose just to piss off a few of my friends, but when it comes down to it I'll root for them over anyone in the NFC. My loyalties are with the city first and foremost.

I can see people that dont live in the tri-state area root for the g-men, but honestly people that live around giant fans know that if the giants win this game we will have to hear about it for the rest of our lives.
Now idk about you but i have to root for belicheat and the cheatriots on this one, i dont live around a bunch of pats fans. and the ones i know i can just call fair weather fans

I am Surprised that so many would go for the Giants over the Pats.

The younger Jets fans (say less than 28 or so) have probably lived through far more Pats success than Phins. But anyone older has to hate the Phins way more , My dislike for that franchise knows no equal.

I barely even view the Pats as a rival , yes we are in the same division but to be rivals there needs to be some level of competitveness. We have basically sucked for the most of the Pats reign of terror and before that the Pats have always sucked.

While the Giants/Jets is a true cross town rivalry even though they play each other only once every 4 years. Just the fact that before Directv NFL ticket you were stuck having to watch their boring ass games every week. Then in 1986 as we are rolling and it looks like our year - not only do we crumble down the stretch , then blow the playoff game in Cleveland. The F***ing Giants win the Superbowl.
The NY Media should make any Jet fan a true Giant Hater.

For me the Choice is Easy -- root for History in the making

I am right on the border. I'm 28 next month.... and my #1 hatred is against the Fins. Second is Pats. My hatred for every other team is significantly less than for those 2. And I have some family (most of my wife's side of the family) that are Giants fans, but most are Jets fans. My season tix have been in the family since the Jets became the Jets.

I was too young to really remember the Jets crumbeling in the 86 season.

It's like having to decide between making out with Rosie O'Donnel or Roseanne Barr.

    Both disgusting propositions...
