I mean nobody outside the top 7 or so really jumps out as you as a potentially good to great player. It just seems so weak after that. Does anybody else agree with me?

I believe the Top of Rd 1 is weaker than the past few drafts. But, the overall depth of this draft class....Late Rd 1 thru 4 will be very strong, especially the RBs, OTs, WRs and DE/OlB(somewhat). The number of underclassmen declaring has made 2008 a good draft. Depth is the key to this draft and later picks will be at a premium.

I feel that there are very few game breakers in this draft (Count to five. Now stop, you've counted too far.) but there are is a vast amount of starter quality players in this draft. It feels like there's early to mid second round talent going into the middle of the third. There's a good amount of hit or miss players but even more sturdy, solid players.

this draft is deep and what draft do u expect to have everyone in the first round be considered a guranteed great player name a better draft in this one as far as depth.Yeah it isnt 05 with Bush, Mario and Vince Young as potential superstar players but this drfat is as deep as it gets with all these juniors coming out.

If that is the case, then that could work out pretty good for us. What I mean is that if a team doesn't see much value in the draft, they could give up a higher draft pick in a trade. If CP is worth a 3rd, maybe he is worth a 2nd. I don't want to see it, but if Vilma is worth a 2nd maybe he is worth a 1st. So on and So on. D-Rob, S. Ellis, V.Hobson,etc.

Aye, but take the Jnrs out of the picture and it is weak.
Personally I think its the round 1 picks (outside of the top 6) that are weak , all the rest of the rounds talent wise are going to be close. What I mean by that is players projected to go in the 3/4th round could easily slide up or down.
Because of this we could come out smelling of roses. If we don't get the player that we are targeting, (Long (s) McFadden, Dorsey) I hope we trade down , it makes sense

every year its the same old boring thing... everyone always thinks the current draft class is weak. its only because you're not as familiar with the players as you'd like to think you are. after next season, you'll be able to look back on the 2008 draft class with a clearer picture of the players and their talents.

What's the point of taking the juniors out to make it look weak? If they declare for the draft, then they should be recognized just as much as the seniors. This season's declaring juniors are a big reason why this draft has so much depth.

Am I under the impression that you are attempting to trade a guy not under contract?

    Are you kidding?

This is one of the best draft classes I've ever seen, especially how deep it is!

There are no over hyped players, no Reggie Bush, no Calvin Johnson, etc. There's are several Grade A- players a a hell of a lot B+ and B players. Usually there are only like 4 A+ guys and the rest B and C guys.

No all stars per say, but still one of the best classes overall. You can get a heck of a player in the 3rd, 4th round this year. Instant starter.

There are dozens of "Late 1st round" players. The 2nd round is really just going to be 1st round 2.0.

well who really knows who is overhyped? We're saying reggie was overhyped because he's not doing great right now. You can easily make the argument that guys like McFadden, Dorsey, Jake Long, or Gholston are overhyped as well. You can get decent players in the later rounds yes, but nothing really great in the first round. The first round is rather weak IMO, and depth just means that everyone is closely knit together, but not necessarily that they are that great.

I think this draft class is pretty good considering the amount of underclassmen. Our 2nd rounder will be late first round quality.

Ultimately the weakness of "game changers" could hurt the Jets in terms of trading down in the draft.GM's will be hesitant to give up the store when they feel they can land their guy at their spot. I for one am hoping that some team falls in love with a player at the combine and gives up some nice picks the way Bradway went after Dwayne Robertson.

Alot of unknown's after mid 1st round which usually translates into some great surprise pickups... Watch what the Ravens/Ozzie Newsome does, in the last 10 years + or - he is the ultimate draft genuis(except Kyle Boller and Travis Taylor),
