The people criticizing the offense as being dink and dunk because of Chad fail to realize that the offense was dink and dunk under Clemens as well...not because it's tailored to Chad, but more it's a product of our OL not being able to block for more than 2 seconds. Receivers can't get very far upfield to be able to stretch the field with our pitiful OL. But it's more convenient to blame Chad.
I am a fan of Chad Pennington (pre-surgury), but even if the OL could protect Chad enough for a WR to get down field he couldn't get it to him. He might be able to throw a 25-30 yard fade. The fact is he can't get enough on the ball for a 10 yard out. This is a very important pass in his style of game. I do not know if Clemens is the answer, but we have a better shot with him behind center right now. We need to get some competition whether it's in the draft or FA.
If williams the d cordinator doesn't get the washington hc job we should make over him a big con tract. He was great dc with buff and know with redskins.
The latest from Rotoworld: Jan. 22 - 12:08 pm et The New York Daily News is "hearing" that the Jets have continued to keep a close eye on the Raiders and defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Profootballtalk hears that coach Lane Kiffin and Ryan, who are coaching at the Senior Bowl, are no longer on speaking terms. The Daily News says Rex Ryan could also emerge as a candidate to replace Bob Sutton in New York, but the Ravens could block such a move because he's still under contract. Source: New York Daily News
I hope your exaggerating but Chad easily managed to get the ball 50+ yards through the air in the Bengals game.
