Please give me one good reason why Glenn Dorsey would be a good pick for the Dolphins? I think Atlanta might go QB, but I like McFadden here and Herm won't draft a QB, I'll guarantee that.
I sort of agree with you on the Gholston comment. I think it is too high for him, but I don't really see anyone out there for us aside from McFadden. I hope we trade back and grab an extra 2nd or a first next year. I think the value in this draft is between picks 20-40.
I think Miami takes Chris Long first overall. Surprisingly as bad as they were this year protecting the QB was not a huge issue for them. Chris Long is a Parcells type player and would set the tone for the type of player they want to bring in.
I would generally agree with you that that is a possibility but I would like to see Chris Long clear up his position before I slot him at first overall. He could be a great fit in the 3-4 at End or OLB but he either has to bulk up or slim down, right now he is in between the two and I don't think that uncertainty will help him out.
I figured they could use an improvement there. The Bills have spent a lot of picks on the defense lately and have generally ignored the end position. I think they have a young offense that could use a boost here or there but End seemed to be an area of need. What do you think the Bills will target in the first round?
That could happen. Interestingly I've read a few comments that Dorsey could slide as far as #15 because of his injury (ankle?) , If he did start to slip and were there @ #6 I say we gamble and take him , he didn't look too shabby in the BCS bowl.
I don't see the Rams passing on Chris Long, they got a DT last year and both of their ends are 100 years old. I don't see the Pats taking a LT and having him sit until Matt Light retires, if they can't trade down I see them taking Phillips or maybe Mike Jenkins, they can afford to reach there. Sam Baker is a BIG reach there. Buffalo will probably take a big receiver like Malcolm Kelly or address their secondary, they have 2 solid ends. Kind of high for Campbell, I think the Bengles would take Keith Rivers or Phillips over him, but that's just me. I think Rivers is a better prospect than Conner, but Conner's stock has been all over the place so who knows. If I was Detriot I would go O-line in the first but they usually go BPA and Phillips provides very good value there.
This assumes they bump Carriker out to End where I think he can be a better player. They seem to have a tendency to take Linemen in the first. Also he can play RT or Guard in the meantime until he cracks the starting lineup. apparently... Previously noted. I'm not sure Kelly gives good enough value there. Thanks for the comments.
I can't buy Clady to the Pats. He's like a not-as-good D'Brick. The only position he projects to play on the OL is LT. I doubt the Pats draft him unless they plan to put him on the usual Pats HGH and other steroids diet.
Well, you are the boards authority on awful drafts. I mean, at least he's got though and work into his reasoning. Rambo, I lkie your look into this. I could really see a parcells led staff picking O-line if they are unable to trade out of the top pick. with as many needs as miami has to address, don;t be supprised if they try to move it. I could see Atlanta shying away from McFadden. The last thing they want ATM is another star that seems to find trouble. Overall I like it though.
I agree. The two teams most likely to want to trade down is Miami and New England. (Maybe us third). However, I can't even begin to try to predict what and who will trade up.
I think it will be very difficult to trade out of the top spot for Miami, as of right now this is a really bad draft to have the top spot, especially if you have no need for a rb. I only see 3 teams that would even remotely consider trading into that spot.. KC - If they desperately want J Long and dont want to take the chance he lasts to them. Oak- Same situation as KC but for Dmac or C Long Bal- If they love Matt Ryan who probably doesnt get past Atl. I think it will be tough to trade down period, with this draft shaping up to be a good into 2nd and 3rd rounds, its not going to be so easy to pry those picks away. I think the Dolphins will get stuck making the pick and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they take the QB they like the best. The Jets will probably have to make their pick as well and take whoever is left between C long, Dmac & Gholston.
If a team wanted to move up, Maimi may be willing to lose on the point chart to get extra picks. Dallas could be a contender for MacFadden with thier two picks. A lot of that depends on if Parcells really likes one of the guys in the top five, or if he is interested in bringing in more young blood.

Rubin won't be there in the 4th Nicks won't be there in the 3rd Hardy being there in in the second is 50/50
Here's my rebuttal: Rubin may not be, but I think the third is pushing it on too early. He really did very little in college and people aren't going to bump him into the second round because he is rotund. He may be a great prospect but there are great prospects every year who fall for less reason. Look at someone like Gabe Watson, similar body type, similar fit in the NFL and he got dropped to the fourth round and was a far big achiever in college with as much pro potential in my opinion. I think the 4th maybe a stretch but I see him going mid third so shoot me. Nicks is a guy I strongly feel will be available in the third. I wrote about this on another site, he is going to be a force, but he won't go before the third. My reasoning is thus: Each of the last three years, 6 Offensive Tackles have been taken in the first 2 rounds. I don't think this class is substantially better to boost this number. Nicks is a Right Tackle in the purest sense. Unfortunately, teams tend to be reluctant to pony up the top picks for a pure Right Tackle. If a team is committing a first or second round pick it is typically going to be for a player they think at least has the potential to play Left Tackle or it means the team is so stacked at other positions that they can afford to use a high pick on Right Tackle, an important but easily filled slot. Well for those teams that will consider taking a Right Tackle early, I believe Nicks is the third best Right Tackle and the seventh best Tackle on the board. He is, in my opinion, behind potential Left Tackles Jake Long, Ryan Clady, Chris Williams and Sam Baker and Right Tackles Jeff Otah and Gosder Cherilus. I think there is a decent chance of 3-4 tackles going in round one with Baker, Otah and Cherilus being the most likely to slip to round two. In my opinion, teams searching for a Right Tackle early will maneuver to net either Otah or Cherilus and let Nicks slip to the third round or if they take Nicks, Cherilus may fall to the third which is good for us as well. As far as Hardy goes, who knows. A lot of people have been slotting him at the 49ers pick. I'd personally be more worried about the Raiders second pick (do they pick in front of us in Round 2?). I think if SF picks a WR in the first round, which they probably should, they will focus on trying to grab a sure fire #1 receiver like Sweed, Kelly, Jackson, or Doucet. I personally see Hardy as more of a complementary receiver with the ability to turn into a starter. He will be brought in more for match up problems early on than because of his ability to take over a game. Furthermore, SF has a history of trading up to get "their guy." I wouldn't be surprised if they did it again this year. Also, like Nicks, I think Hardy will be a good player who has a lot of buzz at the moment but is stuck in a little bit of a line in his position with probably Sweed, Jackson, Kelly, Doucet, Manningham and maybe even Devin Thomas. If I had to change it, I would go something like: 1. Vernon Gholston 2. Gosder Cherilus 3. Jonathan Goff 4. Kendall Langford 5. Mario Urrutia
