Before you say Chris Long will be gone, read my scenario, it's a possibility that C Long will be available if he makes it passed Miami and Oakland get's DMC.

Difficult to do a Mock without Free Agency yet, but these are players that I fell would fit well with the Jet's.

Vilma is traded to KC for their 3rd Rd Pick.

Rd 1) Chris Long DE, VA........Chris may fall if a QB is drafted ahead of us and Oakland takes DMC. 1 Dorsey, 2) J Long, 3) DMC, 4) Ryan 5) Clady 6) C Long)I believe Matt Ryan's stock will rise and ATL would be the likely choice. If Parcells passes on C Long......I think he's a Jet. I don't see STL, ATL, KC taking C Long. Oakland is the wild card, hope they take DMC. Oakland needs to win the flip for #3.

Rd 2) Chris Williams OT, Vandy......enough said 3/5s of the Jet's O-line is in shambles.(At least RT & LG) With Williams added a big help. Tony Wise leaving was a good move too.

Rd 3a) J Leman, ILB Illinois.......Had a big game against OSU and semi-quiet game in the Rose Bowl. I really like Leman, if he makes it past New England at the end of Rd 2. Good player next to Harris.

Rd 3b) Cliff Avril DE/OLB, Purdue.......great candidate for OLB in the 3-4, could be a surprise player.

Rd 4) Cory Boyd RB, SC..........Jet's get in on the great class of RBs in 08's draft, I have never seen so much depth at the RB position. Boyd will be a better pro than college player....all-round back, catches, blocks & runs hard. Reminds me of a Brian Westbrook type player.

Rd 5) Shannon Tevaga OG, UCLA........Fell into Rd 5,(like Beekman last year) but guards seem to drop. Big body that can help depth on the line, may eventually start.

Rd 6) Marcus Smith WR, New Mexico.........Big receiver with good speed, should have gone earlier, falls due to lack of pub in New Mexico

Rd 7a) Dwight Lowery, CB, San Jose St.....JUCO transfer, intercept machine. Huge upside.

Rd 7b)(Trade of Bollinger to Minn.) Ricky Santos, QB, New Hampshire........Very Productive....worth a shot.

It's pretty good overall, but I think we could get more for Vilma, and I'd still prefer Gholston over Long but that's just me.

I love Chris Williams in the second though.

I'd take a Top Rd 3 pick for Vilma, but that's me.

I like Gholston, but have some reservations. I've seen Gholston his whole career and while he's a good player, he goes for long streches of being invisible and that scares the crap out of me. I believe Avril can be that edge rusher we need and may surprise big time.

This could be me being a huge SJSU homer again, but I think Lowery is going to be a good pick for anyone. I said the same thing about James Jones last year, and took some heat for it, so what the hell....why not make another bold prediction.

If he sucked, I wouldnt be saying this..only thing is he wont be there past the 5th round most likely. He can return punts very well also.

You're not being a homer RIGHT NOW...and I'd be the first one to call you on it. Lowery is nasty defensive back and he'll probably be a late round steal for whoever picks him.

I'm not a supporter of the "trade Vilma campaign" to start. The 3rd rounder we get for him is more realistic than the early 2nd others have been predicting at least.

Chris Long is an OK pick. I'd prefer Gholston though.

To save some time, I like the rest of the draft.

Good choice with pick 3b. I remember another mid round OLB/DE from Purdue making it in the NFL a few years ago. (Shaun Phillips of San Diego).

However, we need more help at OLB than a 4th round pick who might start eventually. We need pass-rushers to start next season.

Solid draft though overall and I like Ricky Santos. He did some great things in DI-AA and really stood out.

I like the draft overall. Like others have said, I am not a fan of trading Vilma, especially if it can only net us a 3rd rounder (which is the likely scenario if we do trade him). So I wouldn't trade Vilma, and once again, like others have said, Gholston over Long. Rest of mock is good but there is NO WAY Lowery falls to round 7. He is projected around rounds 3-5, and going mostly in the late 3rd/early 4th round. He is a great prospect, and for that exact reason, he will not be a "late round steal," although he may be a "mid-round steal."

I'm still skeptical of the idea that Matt Ryan to the Falcons is as much of a lock as some have been saying. With the Raiders, it's hard to predict what the hell their going to do, but with Sapp's retirment and Kiffin's USC connections, I don't think it's a stretch for them to take Sedrick Ellis.
