trades pennigton vilma leon to detroit for rogers and 2nd rounder draft 1 Gholston 2a Joe Flaco 2b Ray Rice 3 Roy Schuening 4 Langford from Hampton 5 Mike Schmitt
Ok, check the value charts and get back to me. Maybe also some explanations would do you some good. Cheers.
Ahh Mike Schmidt...took me a little while. I was like why is he posting a picture of a baseball player? (dylanjets-its owen schmidtt, not mike)
Flacco is considered upper 2nd round flirting with lower 1st round. Since he is going to the Senior bowl now he has the chance to be the next Cutler. I would love to get him.
...but Jay Cutler played I-A. Flacco has all the tools that Cutler has, mainly smarts and arm strength, but if you're going to compare him to someone it should be Tarvaris Jackson. I'm not comparing their styles of play AT ALL, because they are completely different types of quarteback, but Jackson was a I-AA QB that stood out at the Senior Bowl and his draft stock went sky high. I like Joe Flacco a lot, but I don't want to see our F.O. bring in another second round QB. That would basically mean that they made a mistake with Clemens.
I'm not comparing Flacco to Cutler in style of play. I am comparing them as I think Flacco could rise like Cutler. I think at this point in time that he could be the best QB in the draft this year. I was not happy when we drafted Clem and he still may work out but he certainly is looking more like a back-up QB then an elite starter. Clem was much better this season then in his first. We'll see. I hope I'm wrong about Clem but I don't think so.
I wasn't comparing their styles of play either, but Cutler played at Vandy which is in the SEC and he had some pretty good games against GREAT college defenses. Tarvaris Jackson, like Flacco, played at a I-AA school and he shot up draft boards after the Senior Bowl and the combine. Jackson was a 2nd rounder.
Got you! Good point. I think Flacco is going to do well in the NFL. I would love to get him in the second if he doesn't move into the first.
I hope he is successful in the NFL also...and it would make it much sweeter if he was successful with the Jets. I don't think he'll slip into the first in front of Matt Ryan, Brian Brohm, and Andre Woodson. A lot of teams in the NFL are set at QB, at least they think they are. Flacco should go no higher than the middle of round 2.
