I only see 3 mid major schools: Rice, BYU, and TCU. Tomlinson is the best player in the league, but he was also considered the best running back to come out in a long time in that draft, that's why the Chargers passed up Michael Vick and traded with Atlanta. McFadden is a much better talent. I like mid major programs, being a Fresno State fan, but Kevin Smith and the rest of the UCF team couldn't last an entire season in a big conference. He'd have good numbers, and still be considered a 3rd-4th round pick.
I don't have much faith in Greco. As of now UCF doesn't have a starting QB, I personally would rather see Joe Weatherford [Drew's brother] starting ahead of Greco. One of the incoming QBs, Rob Calabrese, East Islip (N.Y.) High School [Same school as Boomer Esiason] is going to be unbelievable. He IS the future of this program. He's a 3* recruit, took his team undefeated this year, and set alot of school marks. His running style is like a fullback, I guess tim teblow-esque. Also played some safety. Heres a little something about him: Oh and Burnett had a change of heart and will stay. Good call, he's not good enough for the NFL.
Yeah, and I was 9 years old at the time. I'm not going to remember when they switched. When's the last time someone from a mid-major conference has one the award? 1993. Kevin Smith could've rushed for the record and he still wouldn't have won it, because McFadden plays against better teams and is the better player. The Doak goes to the player that's the best running back, not the running back with the best stats.
We're still arguing over this? GM, I' m the RobA of UCF football, but I gotta go Mcfadden > 24K right now. I mean, there has been an NFL scout or two to say 24K will be better then Darren in the NFL but thats besides the point. Doak Award going to Mcfadden = Good call Doak voters selecting Mike Hart[who was NOT one of the best RBs this year] = Bad call And Same McGuffie is the SICKEST HS kid I have ever seen.
