I see this kid's stock rising and ending the bowl game with the Int., is a nice note to finish . I project Talib to be the second CB off the board with a Mid-teen to early 20 pick, the same range Leon Hall and Aaron Ross went last year. http://www.kansascity.com/166/story/433532.html
I dunno Talib isn't really a football name, he wont suceed! lol, nah i really know nothing about him except that he is from kansas and has decent size and speed. Should be an interesting prospect to watch in my opinion.
I like him but I don't think he'll be the second corner taken unless he has a great combine, I see both Jenkins' and maybe even McKelvin or Cason going ahead of him. It's a very deep CB class this year
There aren't any corners with blazing speed like there has been in the past, but a lot of them are playmakers: Talib and Cason especially.
Do you think we take any cornerbacks at all? I mean we still have Justin Miller who showed some promise before his injury. I think we have enough depth for #2 corner back at this point. If no one emerges as a clear number 2 by the end of the 2008 season we will definitley look to pick someone up.
Miller must really suck because he's so fast and young but can't get it done at CB. I guess he'll always just be on special teams or play Nickleback or something. What about Dyson? I thought he was supposed to be pretty good.....Barret?
It still isn't 100% proven that he can't get it done. He had a great preseason after what seemed like a complete turnaround and then got injured. He gets one more year to prove he doesnt suck at CB.
Unless we start releasing guys, I don't see the need to draft a corner, even though Poteat starting so many games might lead you to believe otherwise. Injuries were tough on our DB's this season, and it was still one of the strongest units on the team. Revis - Dyson - Barrett - Miller - Poteat - Coleman That's a really solid group.
Well, ESPN's bottom line said Malcolm Jenkins back to school, so I think his draft status just shot up. -X-
Aqib Talib has the chance of being the first cornerback taken now that Malcolm Jenkins decided to go back for his senior year, which I applaud, since he takes his education seriously even though he knows he would have been picked in the top 15 of the first round. Now depending on how well Talib does at the combine or his pro day and how well Cason does in the Senior Bowl and at the combine or his pro day, will determine who the first corner that will be taken. I see it as a battle between Talib and Cason.
