What do you guys think? It would put an end to all of the crying and complaining about the BCS which we have to sit through every year around December, on the other hand it completely devalues the prestige that the bowls carry (the BCS bowls at least).

The BCS bowls have prestige? The BCS system is terrible. I would love to see a playoff system similar to the one used in the Bowl Subdivision.

All of the other bowls will still be there, and those are the most fun to watch. Most of the matchups are even, so the games are usually close.

You don't think that winning any of the top four bowls carries any prestige? Admitedly most of the games before New Year's day are mostly ridiculous exhibition games featuring teams that most people don't care about but being the Rose Bowl champion htas to mean something on its own.

Personally, I'd like to see an eight team bracket being implemented. And to hell with the "plus-one" system.

Winning the national championship has prestige, and winning your conference has prestige...but winning the Orange Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl doesn't do anything in terms of prestige.

Boise State ran the table and beat a very good Oklahoma team in last year's Fiesta Bowl -- I think they lost 3 or 4 starters the next season, and they were ranked 24th in the pre-season poll. The BCS bowls mean nothing. The schools that play in them get A LOT of money, which probably helps out their athletics and recruiting, but there isn't much prestige unless it's for the title.

Most of a the bowls that you call "exhibition games" are usually very exciting and MOST of the teams that are playing in those bowls played hard all season to become bowl eligable and deserve to be playing in a bowl. I don't care who is playing...maybe it's just because I'm a huge college football fan.

Yeah it would stop the whining. I'm all for it, but it will never happen.
