Wow that is a cup is overflowing with optimism from you. Anyway it is good to see you are at least giving them another year. Am I glad this season is over? Hell no I wish it lasted another 16 weeks. This way I could retire from my job with concussion syndrome which I received from banging my head against the wall.
This is the worst feeling ever, not being able to watch a Jets game until August. 8 months!!! It may not feel awful now, but a few weeks away from Jets football and it will sink in.
Not sure how I am feeling at the end of the year because after the 6th week it was over for me after what I saw. So it was rather anti-climatic squeaking a win out from a Herm Edwards coached team.I dont know everybody says they would like to see Kellens play with a new line. I don't think he is any good myself. I would rather see Chads play when he had time in the pocket and to step into his throws so as to be able to put more on it. When you are trying to throw passes on the run , or leaning on your back foot to escape the onslaught . You depend on arm strength, of which he is lacking. Pick up 3 new lineman in the offseason . Let Dink and Dink and Dunk fight it out for Qb honors. Dangle Vilma out there for better draft position or a big fat nose guard. Well if we could do these things this off season I will be cautiously optimistic. Cautiously optimistic? Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah every friggin year since "67" that I have been a Jet fan. Although I really thought we were gonna do it in "99". Oh well
Yup this team is snake bit at QB and it will hold us back for years. At best we will be the Jacksonville Jags in 4 years.
:: In Robs low preacher voice:: "And that everybody, has concluded the 2007 regular season, see you draft weekend." As Rob blares the siren throughout the place.
We can go back to preseason threads to validate this, but some of us kind of saw the writing on the wall. The Jets coming off of a 10-6 season just did not do enough to improve. NT, improving the offensive line, getting a pass rusher in there were all huge needs but we opted for journeymen players. The draft we hit two home runs, but did not add enough depth. Since the FO tries to follow the Pats program, maybe now they see that you cannot win with just role players, you have to have some big names at key spots. I am not sold on the coordinators, the offense was so predictable and the defense is way too undersized for a 3-4. As many have been saying, make or break offseason for the NYJ. Decisions made this offseason will affect the team for the next 3 or so years.
I am just happy the Jets have a clean slate. Like many of you have said, the season was over pretty quickly. You knew the team was crap and wasn't going anywhere, yet had to watch another 10 games. Now it is time to look to the future and try to make improvements. When I said there is a good chance the Jets will improve in 2008, I meant win wise, because 4-12 is pretty bad. haha.
Yep, a clean slate in 08. If tangini makes some good moves and the team improves, they'll get kudos. If they turn out to be a one year wonder and the team continues to slide, we'll be here to rip them a new one.
I think that Tangini have until the opening of the new stadium to turn things around. If they can't get it done by then, Woody will make a move just to create a buzz about the team when we move into our new digs.
What is that? 2 more seasons? I think the Jets will turn it around and improve in 2008, but they can't just stand around and be satisfied with the same roster/coaches from 2007. The team needs to be shook up a little bit.
Let's face it, the best time to be a Jets fan is the off-season. That's when hope returns and all things are possible.
