Willis was the runaway winner with 48 of 50 votes after leading the league in tackles with 174. For all those pimping D.Harris, he didn't receive either of the other two votes. Those went to CAR J.Beason. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3181099
In all honesty, it's deserved but Harris is right up there and we got him for a much better value in the draft.
Harris played 11 games...he had 126 tackles, 5 sacks Willis played 16 games....he had 174 tackles, 4 sacks... Harris would have won, if he was consistent..big IF...
it's about more than stats though, Willis dominated games, he chaged that defense entirely. The Jets D sucked while Harris racked up stats. SF actualy played well on D, and is started with willis in the middle.
by all love to Harris, this one belongs to Willis. He played at the same level as Harris, and did it for 16 games. He?s the Leading Tackler of the League, no doubt this is his award. I?m sure on Panthers boards everyone is thinking Beason should have won this award after switching from OLB to MLB, and dominating on both positions. It?s pretty impressive when a Rookie can cange positions during the Season and be a even better than on the Position he spend all Camp on. But i have little doubt, that all 3 of them will be among the elite ILBs in this League for the next 10 years. If you throw in Poluszny (sp?) in as well, i think this is probably the best ILB cass of all time.
Agreed. I was mortified by how ridiculous Posluszny played. To think that we have to go up against THAT twice a season for who knows how the hell many years is not something that I am looking forward to. And it very well could be, if not one of the top ones. We'll need a few years to see.
did the Jets defense finish the season remotely as bad as they started it? Harris had a very large impact on the running game, as well as the short passing game. Lets not forget his team leading 5 sacks....I think thats called a pass rush. I didnt say Peterson didn't deserve it, because he did. But Harris was just as good at what he did, if not better. Peterson wasn't a one man show, he was one of a few bright spots on a mediocre defense, which is what Harris was. Harris produced more big plays then almost our entire defense combined. The only thing that stands out in my mind is Peterson's gave saving tackle against the Cardinals in OT when they beat them on a Warner sack fumble in the endzone. the fine line between Harris and Peterson is just that. A very fine line...his 174 tackles were great, but thats about it.
Don't mind that dipshit, his mind is on the nice cold breezy tropics. Shit knowing him he might have meant Vilma..............hahahahahahah Harris was not far away but Willis came out and performed exceptional from the get go . There is no arguing he deserved this award. I will say that if Beason got nominated over Harris or Willis, well then the person that did that was smoking crack. I saw some Carolina games and Beason was good but better than either Wills or Harris................... no fucking way.
Beason was a first rounder, that's really only one reason why I'd see him getting 2 votes over Harris. As for Willis, he definitely deserved it. He was bringing the heat from week 1 against Arizona. I made it a point to try and catch a few 49ers games this season just to watch him.
haha, yea.....my bad I had a few drinks earlier today  Peterson is legit, I think we all know that
See blaming Drugs & Alcohol again. Some day they will get to your true calling........... a prison bitch.
better to make someone else my bitch then to be the one dropping the soap, just to come up with a surprise....
