He's the WR I want from this draft, if we are going to take one I would like it to be him. He may be coming off an injury but I still think he is the top WR in the class either way. And he is likely to go in the late first, early second round because of his injury. So I think we could snage him with our original second. Since most posters think we will acquire an extra second rounder through trade, or at worst a third, I don't think it is to big of a risk. At 6'5'' 220 pounds, he is that tall guy that we have been lacking. Also I got a 40 time from "Junkyard Jake's NFL draft page, I have no idea how accurate it is, but he has him listed as 4.45 speed. The forty times are down at the bottom of the page http://www.junkyardjake.com/NFLDraft/index.htm Here are a few of his highlight vids from Youtube Limas Sweed 2:52 Phenomenal one handed grab later on Limas Sweed 4:27 This video doesn't have hardly any highlight plays until after 2:00 shows his breakaway speed, watching this makes me think he is faster than the 4.45 he is listed as. Limas Sweed 1:36 More breakaway Speed Limas Sweed 3:57 This is the If you Only have time for one Video Watch this Video.
why wont we be in the spot to take him lots of mocks have him going early-middle second, and we pick early second
we could grab him in the second, but id rather have manningham if we're gonna take a wr in rd. 2 ultimately id rather have gholston at #6, although now its looking like he may not be there, and with the 2nd rd pick take frank okam.
Well at this point mocks have him as being there for us to take, so at this point, i am saying if he was available would you take him? The argument for drafting Mcfadden, is that he is a great playmaker, and that he can change our mediocre offense, Sweed is the same type of guy. No he is not as dynamic as Mcfadden, but he is great tall, fast and is the reciever we need to bolster our Corps. He gives us the third guy we are longing for and he also gives us Coles replacement in a year or two.
If we can sign a guard and offensive tackle in free agency, I'd draft Limas Sweed. It would be a toss-up between him and the guard from Oregon State. More than likely, though, I feel Sweed's too good to pass up in the first round, especially a winning team with few holes.
If he has a good combine, he'll shoot up into the 10-15 range in the first round. I can't see us being in a spot to pick him unless we trade down from our original pick.
I'm not a Sweed fan. I think Bowman is a better NFL prospect than him. Plus theres a few guys like Monk, Smith, Nelson, and if Greg Carr comes out...This draft has alot of big WRs.
we dont need a wr we have bigger holes to fill we should sign some like bryant johnson or bernard berrian
Incorrect. We are in dire need of a Wide Receiver, especially if they think about getting rid of Coles in the next year or two. Cotchery may or may not be a #1 receiver but aside from him and Coles we don't have a proven weapon out there. Also, we haven't had a good big guy since Keyshawn left. Big red zone targets help teams and we need one for the jump ball and the fade. Get Sweed or Bowman or Urrutia or Monk or that dude from Indiana who's name I can't remember and it will help our offense greatly.
