Now with the sixth pick , this draft to me doesent have ALOT of break out players and guys like McFadden and Chris Long will most likely be picked. So ive come to really like... James Laurinaitis. Seems like a Mangini type guy would fit great in the three four system with great size and speed at 6-foot-3 and 245 he's a playmaker and is all over the field making plays when ever i watch OSU the past two seasons. Imagine him alongside David "Tha Hitman" Harris ? Damn that would be sick to watch. Only other guy i would take besides Laurinitis is the other Buckeye. There DE , Vernon Gholston. We could use a good Pass Rusher and he could be like our version of Shawn Merriman or DeMarcus Ware , But Drafting Lauranitis would Piss Bellichick off since he's in love with the kid. What do you guys think we should do with the pick ???

I like your thinking, but ILB is not a priority right now.

There is a very strong possibility that Lauranaitis will not declare. As far as Gholston, he's going to declare right after the BCS championship game.

It's impossibile to decide what direction we go with #6, it all depends on Free Agency. If we sign Suggs, I'd doubt we would draft Gholston, but you never know.

My Choice for #6 would be Chris Long, he might fall due to 4 of the 5 teams above the Jets probably don't have a need for C Long. If C Long slips by Oakland, he might fall into the Jet's lap.

If C Long and DMC are gone, which is very likely, right now I'm leaning toward Gholston or Kenny Phillips.

If we sign Suggs I would think that the play would be to drop down 2 or 3 spots, pick up a draft pick or two and draft a pure DE - Calais Campbell.
Campbell and Suggs on the same side could be a potent duo...

As much as I like Chris Long I think he would be better suited as a Pass rushing OLB. Of course Suggs and Long on opposite sides sounds nice as well.

my question is, why wouldn't the Ravens franchise Suggs? if he's as valuable as we all believe it seems they'll want to franchise him so he can't test the market.

i'm not sure i agree with passing on Gholston if we managed to get Suggs. i understand we're kind of forced to play Bryan Thomas on the other side because we extended him, but that line of thinking isn't a recipe for winning. if Gholston is better than Thomas, then get him and play both him and Suggs at the same time while rotating in Thomas.

if we have to pass on Gholston for the aforementioned reasons (if Suggs is signed), i also wouldn't mind seeing Philips play next to Rhodes -- though 6 may be kinda early for him.

You're obviously missing the point of trading down. We trade down so we can get McFadden on the Jets in 2007. Dur.

hes pointing out the irony of "MCFADDENJETS07" saying we should trade down.

I could very easily see Laurinaitis going to the Pats. He'd be a perfect replacement to Bruschi.

Vilma didn't play much this year, and when he did he was a ghost, our defense sucked this year because our d-line can't stop the run and our outside linebackers can't rush the passer, not sure why Vilma not being on the roster means we need an ILB
