I am not surprised at all that Hawaii was blown out. After seeing their performance against Washington, I knew their defense wouldn't be up to the challenge.
they played no one all year and were outplayed by Washington. What a joke. It wasn't just their defense. Their offensive line was completely dominated, and Brennan was horrendous.
it wasn't brennan's fault he barely finished a 3 step drop most downs before someone was on him. that was awful play on the o-line
That still makes Non-BCS teams 2-1 in BS Bowls Whoever said that Delany and the Rose Bowl are holding up a playoff hit a bullseye. The Rose Bowl claims they want tradition, where was tradition when they bypassed a top 10 Cal team for Texas a few years ago to play Michigan? The issue this year was Hawaii had to make a BCS game and Arizona State couldn't play USC is the Rose Bowl. I still don't understand how Kansas makes the Orange Bowl over Missouri. They need to do away with these tie ins. USC vs Oklahoma would have been a much better Rose Bowl Georgia vs Virgina Tech or WVU would have been a great game
Tyler what's his name, the backup looked more impressive. Definitely not all Brennan's fault but he did not have a good game at all. Not only could he not drive the team much at all, he kept turning it over.
The thing that really hurt Hawaii was USC. Ok now here me out on this before you go nuts. Georgia and USC both felt they should have played for a national title but both go passed over for LSU and Ohio State. On many occasions these types of teams feel sorry for themselves and don't show up (Oklahoma last year). Well this year it was different as USC did show up and absolutely killed the Illini. Anybody who didn't think Georgia knew that going into the game is crazy. These 2 teams both feel like impressive wins in their bowl games can get them the vote in the AP especially if the BS Title game is a snoozer. Both USC and Georgia have made extremely strong cases to the AP as to why they should be #1 in that poll. Throw in the fact that Hawaii was 4000 miles away from their home and Georgia has a history of taking care of business in big bowl games and the mix was not good for Hawaii. I bet the Bulldogs and made a killing as alot of money was coming in on the Warriors. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the Hawaii players were out late on Borboun St and partying all week while the Georgia players were there for business. Georgia also took care of Boise St a few years ago in a season opener killing the Broncos.
Here's what I would have liked to see; Ohio State - Georgia LSU - USC West Virginia - Missouri Kansas - Michigan Florida - Virginia Tech That would have been 5 great bowl games to watch. Screw Oklahoma --- they havent shown up for a bowl game in years -- Bob Stoops cant coach on the big day in January.
